Despite many comic book artists having been mentioned, I'm sort of surprised this guy hasn't come up yet (Simon Bisley):

It's quite easy to see who he got his main inspiration from, though, but he does some interesting proportion distortions at times (and a lot of filth... just Google it).

Also, I love that Roger Dean was mentioned twice, but nobody brought up Rodney Matthews. But I guess they're as close as Bisley is to Frazetta, so maybe it's unnecessary.

However, it's a true crime that Syd Mead has been left out so far. I mean, his designs are so pure and his skill (reflections especially) is crazy:

Also, the guy did vehicles and environments for Tron and Blade Runner.

Why is the future that artists imagine for us SO much better than what we have/will end up with? Policy makers should see this stuff...

Because nuclear wastelands and horrible genocidic conflicts involving cool weaponry is so much cooler! Damn, those internet, advanced health care and no constant hunger and no mass war is so sucky! I liked better when Earth was destroyed by nuclear war or robots in 1996.
I dream of a day when im going to die in bloody giant robot crossfire...

Nah, '60s millenia sci-fi is still better than rugged plastic and politicians everywhere. In the end, one future is chrome (everything is in the future) and the other is of a chrome-like coat of paint.

Ooh! I have seen some of these on Deviant Art before, they really capture some feeling.
I love the dad, he looks regrettable about something like they have been left alone in the world, but you can see his gentleness and love for his daughter at the same time; and his desire to give her a good life.
