That's the main gameplay, you don't see your opponent on the same color background than him, you look at his screen to guess where he is, hence why you close your eyes to feint. If you use the shuriken, it's visible while you hold it, but if you hit him with the shuriken he became a visible color and cannot camouflage against background.
That's BRILLIANT!
