The highlight on the legs seem to be a bit extreme, especially on the skin where the reflected light should be more diffused.
@Cow: saturated red as a base hue? That's smart. I always manually do the "whitish cream to red to shadow" when rendering skin, and it always comes out weird and gross.

If I would have gone any farther with it it would be a lot darker, I just liked the aesthetic really.

@John Do you draw silhouettes before you do the lineart or what for these pictures?

(skips a lot of steps and most of the cleanup i did but w/e) this pic originally started out as a bust, otherwise i would have laid out the whole thing before doing the detail on the head basically i do a super rough stick figure, then start layering on blocks of flesh (not lineart), using the eraser tool to carve/trim it down nicely. then i add additional layers of clothes (even though it's the same color, i still do the undergarments/limbs first) using either the white pen or the eraser tool to add detail

Great job, John... You could try some different colors though to suit the characters better

snip That's a pretty solid process. I've never thought to use blocks of color to draw a body out. Interesting approach.

think 'persona', but replace high schoolers with social outcasts/dropouts with psychokinetic powers who risk their lives for humanity in the fight against an extradimensional threat-- not out of any sense of moral obligation or duty, but rather because it's a job and it pays well and they're literally unemployable otherwise.
basically 'dead like me' meets 'the kurosagi corpse delivery service' meets 'bladerunner'
