I didn't see the option in the readme, at least...

edit: Found the answer! -width and -height are the commandline parameters to adjust resolution, so I just appended '-width 1280', and it worked.

I'm just wondering... the last level in the demo, the one where you "control" the flesh-eating plants by going right and left, and have to make a Goomba survive... I just can't seem to get the timing right. I'm always too slow when I climb the ladder to the left.

Think about how you can get up to the platform faster.

Luckily, I figured that puzzle out by myself yesterday evening. It still required some pretty good timing, but it felt so good when I beat it.

By the way, the "-language english" think worked. Thanks!

Blow should take a few lessons in user friendliness. I need to use command line to change resolution and language? Most people don't even know how to do that in Windows.

Yeah, at least make it a text .ini file, that's at least marginally easy to use for most people, and takes no more work.

I can't imagine a commercial game being released like that Huh?

Braid is commercial, no?

On my playthrough I was also struck by how weird he goes about the process of starting a new file.  I like the idea of the game automatically starting a new file and jumping right into the gameplay the first time you start it up, but the way it's set up (auto-loading the last opened file with no indication of what file is loaded) I can see a lot of people who have two files going at once (roommates who are taking turns playing, for instance) accidentally playing on the wrong file a lot.

Commercial games used to use command line options all the time in the DOS era. It's just weird to see it today.

Well it made sense in DOS, because games were run from the command line.

As soon as you "get" it it's not that hard.

Well, obviously, every puzzle seems easy once you've solved it. I do "get" the mechanics of the game, but that doesn't mean I can't bang my head against one single puzzle for half an hour without figuring it out. That feels hard to me.

In that regard I appreciate it a lot that the game lets you go on to other puzzles to clear your mind a little.

Think I'll have to get this.  o.o

What's this about a star you can only get your first time through on a given file?  Can someone spoil me as little as possible for what's required to get that one?

I think it was a star that you CAN'T get on a given file anymore once you solved World 3. Don't quote me on it though.

It's pretty unlikely that you'll go star-hunting without really knowing the where and how of each one.  It's possible, yes - the clues are there, once you know what to look for - but getting/missing stars isn't something you should worry about when simply playing the game.

Nonetheless...

The star is hidden in one of the puzzle-paintings.  Once you've put the pieces together, it's no longer possible to arrange them in such a way to get the star.

Don't worry about this star stuff on your first time through at least, just play the game normally.

There is a star which you can only get if you don't solve a certain puzzle before getting it.

I just "enjoyed" the 2 hour star-puzzle Lips Sealed

I enjoyed that one myself, as my solution to it involved watching two discovery channel documentaries on Batman.
