I knew this project wouldn't go very far. Now I know why we don't see many games in this style; it's much harder than it seems! Not just the amount of animation but the finite state machine that defines the controls is pretty complicated to get it right. It was fun though :D

lol Thanks I'm glad you like it. But what do you propose? Programming this thing is a pain in the butt, specially the offset code (the thing that actually moves the character but keeps it on the grid). Animating is very time consuming as well but at least it's kind of therapeutic to draw a few frames every day.

Is your code object oriented? I assume the movement velocities are multiples of the actual grid-size. Perhaps you should post your code in the grumpy programming room and get some feedback.

I don't think so, I can't do modeling or any form of art for that matter I just do programming, the cars are from the asset store.

Working on nerfing the difficulty of the first stage boss. Enemy design model sheets aren't finished, let alone sprites, so he's just a rectangle for now. Plus the background isn't finished either. I think this is about as easy as I'm going to make this phase. Probably a little slow in gif form.
