Hey.

I am a bit worried as I am now creating kind of game creation software and don't know how many people would need a windows\mac version of the IDE.

The majority use Windows, but i prefer cross-platform. We could use it everywhere Grin

The majority of people only use windows because the majority of software is on windows.(and nothing else)
Chicken and egg scenario, man.

Kamac, game creation software is kind of like working on an MMORPG, especially if you want other people to use it. But maybe it's a good learning experience.
Just take a look at Unity, see the platforms it supports. Or take a look at game maker.
