I was just notified of this pixel editor called pickle. I've only played around with it a little bit so far, but it seems pretty decent. Very straightforward and simple. Not sure if it has many useful tools for animation yet, but it might be worth checking out. What do you guys think?

It lacks brushes so your stuck pixeling one pixel at a time.
So far thats my one complaint about it from what I saw.

No line drawing tool, but the workflow is very nice. With more features (dithering? i love dithering) it could replace what I use (gimp ugh)

yeah, i'm finding it to be very lightweight. i think the right-click erase option might not be implemented yet, and there's nothing i found that you can do to easily/quickly change a palette color. hopefully these are things he's planning to work on.

Looks interesting. I use Photoshop, but that's only because I use it for my day job and practically live it in anyway. Something a bit lighter might be nice so I have been keeping my eye out - may give this a try Wink

This is pretty cool. That said, why the .gif button doesn't do an animation instead of a sprite sheet? Sad
Is there a converter online?
