Hi there!

Dino Quake is an old school arcade game which takes place in the prehistoric age. You are a dinosaur able to pound the ground to generate quakes which knock out enemies.

The game features a 2 players cooperative mode, fully deformable terrains, level bosses and pure arcade action. Dino Quake is highly influenced by Data East games like Tumble Pop and Joe & Mac!

Hope you enjoy Dino Quake. Looking forward to your feedbacks! Smiley

It can't be more oldschooldish. It looks great, and it reminds me of the original Mario Bros! Does it have cooperative mode? THAT would be awesome!

No, seriously, I liked it a lot. Which platforms are you aiming at?

Ok... as soon as I wrote that and posted the question I went back to the forums and saw a huge FLASH flag on your post. I guess you don't need fans like me.

Looking forward to playing it, anyway! :D

Thanks, happy you enjoyed the trailer!

@Woodwolf
Dino Quake is a flash browser game. I called it cooperative mode since the two players share the amount of lives and the points. They also have to work and coordinate together in order to defeat the level bosses.

The game will come out very soon! Smiley

Looks like fun.  Will the music in the trailer be in the game?

Yes, the trailer's music will be in the game along with another track. For the sound effects I opted for 8bit style sfx.

Was hoping it would have some Quake 3 influence.

Nice, cute graphic. I do feel that the style is screaming pokemon a lot.
Judging from the video, I expect the game will be too easy since you don't have to worry about timing and landing your jump since the wave affect the whole length of the platform.

Everybody in the office was quite impressed with this idea.

This doesn't happen all the time. On some platforms quakes won't be enough powerful to reach the end of the platform. That's why there's also a power up which allows you to generate mega-quakes!

Thanks st33d, I'm glad to hear that! Smiley

I liked how the video made me think of Bubble Bobble, which was one of my favorite NES games. I'm looking forward to this.

The world needs more Bubble Bobble-likes, and this looks like a good one.

Very nice idea!  Feels somewhat Bubble Bobble-ish.  In the video I don't see many bonuses though, I wonder if you could add more?

I love looking at this guide to the bonuses in BB, there were so in-depth:

Standard items
Special items
Big items

Thanks for the feedback and linking the Bubble Bobble's resources!

Although Dino Quake has a Bubble Bobble feeling the game is more like Data East's Tumble Pop so I think that maybe it should be more compared to this last one rather than to Bubble Bobble.

Dino Quake is going to have 5 different bonuses: speed, double quake, mega quake, time freeze and shield. These 5 bonuses are more than the bonuses you can find in games like Tumble Pop or Joe & Mac Returns.

However, more are the bonuses more is the fun! So adding bonuses would have been better for sure. I'll keep this in mind! Smiley
