Remember the old LCD game's you used to play as kid?
Well here's one you never played, this is my new game stylised to look and play like an old LCD game. In movie terms it would be considered a "re-imagining"(though the game is totally original) :-)

It's simple, birds will fly out of the tree all you have to do is send to the kingdom come!
You have 5 spare bullets (top left), if you miss a bird you'll lose a spare bullet.
Lose all your bullets and it's game over punk!
Let 10 birds slip past and it's game over.
That's it, shoot fast, hard and accurately and build a nice high score!

I'd love to hear what you old school gamers think about it!

Play it in full on Kongregate right here:http://www.kongregate.com/games/zerosimms/blasting-birds

Don't forget the batteries!

that's awesome. Although not very fun, gets old quickly, its a great idea to see implemented. Might have to make my own lcd sort of game for some practice Smiley

interesting but I don't like the clash of art styles. Everything should be in "comic" style : the pixelly characters and the blood particles are out of place

Question of taste maybe?
The old LCD units sometimes had print on the screen which in my case is the tree, everything moving would be a collection of pixels. I didn't want to do a full scale re-creation I wanted to do something that felt and played like the originals but wasn't an original if that makes sense?

Thanks for the feedback, it's always good to hear what others think.
Btw, what did you think of the gameplay?
