Belated crits for the box art:

  • First thing my eyes went to was the girl with dreadlocks. She just got kidnapped? The pose was too confusing to tell. More effective if we could see her distressed face, or if she was reaching back out for the boy.
  • It wasn't immediately obvious who Kale was.
  • His face isn't panicked enough. At first glance, he looked like he was just smiling and chilling.

Animating something like this >> Outraged << would take hours, maybe even days of work.

@Kramlack: it is about you   Cool
@saibot216: @Shawny: thanks!
@thethingsimiss: thanks for the criticism; the box art has a lesser role now than it did before anyway.

Hey people!  Smiley

We're about ready to start marketing, I'm just waiting on the website to be finished. It was probably hard to tell from our screenshots what the game was like, especially if you haven't played the original - SO

Here's the preview trailer:
http://www.indiedb.com/games/kale-in-dinoland/videos/kale-in-dinoland-preview-trailer

Props to Luming for the sound, he re-scored the entire game -- that was one of his tracks (its cut in the video) he did before he accidentally overwrote his LSDJ save. That track might make it into the game (title screen perhaps), but each area (there's 6) will have its own theme like in the original.

(here's the opening graphic hi-res, in case anyone wants it http://media.indiedb.com/images/members/1/632/631633/background1_2_wallpaper.jpg )

Also - I fixed the d-pad. It has more pop and the d-pad shadow matches the button shadows more (softer shadows). In the video you'll see the buttons actually 'press in' when you press them. Cracking the d-pad four ways simplified this process, while adding to the aesthetic of the game.

I finished the website, save for screenshots.

TRC Website

Before I send it out, we'd love some feedback! Is there anything it needs?
