Hello there! Gentleman

Let me introduce myself gentlemen!
I've been away from the independent scene for quite a while but today's the day of my come-back!
I sharpened my claws over several projects with my fellow friend Antoine (that I'm sure some of you might have already met and talked to on that very forum).
Nowadays I'm working at Steinberg (mainly famous for Cubase) finally determined to write down some tunes for nice games!
I'm therefore currently looking for semi-professional or professional projects where my work and my collaboration could fit in.
I'm sorry I didn't take the time to check out what's going on on the other threads and categories but I promise you I'll do that thoroughly as soon as possible.

You can find some of my most noteworthy tunes on my Soundcloud:
https://soundcloud.com/edgar-phoete

You'll find down there evocative demo tracks and some official songs from Cerberus as well, my most recent project with Antoine (Developer, Project Lead) and Pierre (Designer).
The Soundcloud's still under construction so don't mind the emptiness.
Thank you for listening, stay tuned and -btw- comments of any kind are always deeply appreciated folks! Smiley

Anyway, feel free to drop a line in case you're interested in my work.

Great music! These are the kind of songs I study/analyze when I'm trying to compose piano songs of my own. I loved Pirates'Carnival; it was a great mixture of instruments and smooth transitioning between the different parts of the song. Overall, very great work!

Unfortunately, I don't have a reliable team to work on semi-professional level projects yet; but if I ever run across someone who does, I will definitely refer you to them or vice versa.

Keep up the awesome work!

Hi Kaaeden,

Thank you so much for this invaluable comment!

Do you have a tiny portfolio or a thread on this forum where to see your work?

Cheers mate!

You're very welcome.

If you meant a portfolio of my compositions, I don't have one. The few songs I composed for the piano are ingrained into my hands' muscle memory.

But if you meant my actual skill; 2D Design. Here's the link to my post on this forum.

Or here's a link to my small portfolio; I Just updated it with a new pixel art section- still building it though. http://kenskaeden.carbonmade.com/

Just had a little listen and I'm enjoying your music. I enjoy the changes of tempo, key, time sig throughout your pieces as well. I can tell you put a lot into each track. I enjoy your choice of harmony as well - very sakimoto.

If you were looking for any critical feedback at all, there were a few times where I was caught off guard by some of the mixing (guitar in pirates' carnival) and a few slightly untidy bits of sequencing that gave away the virtual instruments which were generally really great (e.g. I think clarinets in general, more often as ensemble than solo patches, felt less convincing to me). And just a sliiight hunch (I'm sure you were aware of this when you were making them but just a niggling feeling) - you often have a lot of tempo changes, I would just be wary that this isn't too much of a variation of feelings for whichever part of the game you're scoring.

I cannot offer you much as another composer but I hope you find work here. : )

Hi Calum!

Thank you so much for your comment. Well, the harmony is first and foremost lydian before being Sakimoto-ish Wink

I agree on all the points, they absolutely make sense. All these songs that you pointed out were made around 4 years ago now when I didn't have enough audio gear and background theory and knowledge for the mixing part. My most recent work is I think more relevant (I'll Save Your Life But Not Your Soul, Winds of Eleusis) hopefully.

I'm gonna check your Soundcloud as well, it looks quite promising!

Thank you so much again Calum! Smiley
