seems the forums are infected with something... loading a page i get a lot of requests from many differents sites that... are not tigsource.com

i just blocked all with ease but yeah, why not trashing this oold bugged board and install MyBB ( http://www.mybboard.net/ )? i think we all are tired by an hack every month.

It's powerful, free and totally skinnable, and more important: they fix all the security bugs asap releasing a new version, and it's very easy to stay up-to-date, directly from the admin panel.

Are you sure it is the board's fault? It might as well have been an out of date web server, php installation, database, vulnerable custom board extension, somehow slipped through admin accounts in the db, os library, etc.

Was the latest script insertion done via templates that can only be changed through editing the file in the web server's directory, or can a malicious admin account or intruder alter templates (maybe the web server logs show when and how they were accessed) in the admin section of the board?

Are there any known vulnerabilities for SMF 1.1.5? I did an - admittedly rather short - search that didn't come up with anything.
