The shadows seem a bit harsh, and the legs are strangely proportioned. Something about his posture feels... stiff.
Other than that, I'm quite fond it it :D

Keep in mind that I couldn't do that well, but I'll still try to offer some critique.
The shading looks great, as does the use of color, at least to me. The sprite's lower half, though, looks a little bit... rigid. The completely flat chest outline (despite the shaded six-pack) and the widely-spreading waist don't look like they fit with the upper body's rounded arms. It looks almost like the spriting style changes as the waist is reached.
If anything, I'd suggest changing the style of the top half to be more geometric-looking (maybe a bigger, less rounded head?), or make the bottom half mimic the top, possibly with more muscular legs and smaller boots. Personally, I like the style of the top half more, but that's just me.
Even with that, though, the sprite looks great.

I'm not sure if I understood all of your post properly, so to make sure we are both on the same page... this is what you mean right? give him a guitar
It' funny that you mention that, because as I was drawing his pose I imagined him holding a guitar...true story. super sweet triple edit: better?

Much better. It still looks a bit stiff, but that might not be a problem once he's animated. Uh, I assume you're going to animate him.

I don't think he's stiff but he's got great posture.

Make the shades more saturated. Now they seem pretty gray which looks odd to me.

Oh my god, this. And give him a mullet. As for his posture, it's lacking, boring and kinda stiff. The colors need work too.

He currently has no neck! How will he headbang with his guitar without a neck!

He could shake his head left to right...

What's up doods? Thanks for the c&c! I posted this on wayofthepixel.net and one guy did an edit that followed my original design pretty closely so I stuck with that. left:mine right:his mine: And I drew this a long time ago and found it, which is what inspired me to do this sprite.

Here you go: (In practice, of course, the skips would happen much less frequently.)
