did a live stream today and i fixed a huge number of bugs, like 5 or something. im so lazy.

i feel like recently ive kind of been breaking off from my original purpose of making games, which to make people happy. i feel like i really dont want to end up like that as a person, so i am going to try to be more open and less of a totally professional snob. i am really sorry about how i have been acting as of late.

So. school has started, and as such, progress on this game might end up slowing down quite heavily. then again, i can still do level designs and stuff on my free time. as such, expect more levels, mechanics, etc. but dont expect any progress on art or voicing.

okay, so my website will probably be going down for a little while until i can find a way to fund it again. its close to 80$ and right now i have very little money to my name. as such, i might not be able to get it back up for a few months. in other news, i've started to make a name for myself as a musician, apparently. the alias cj is by this point better known in my town for being a busker than a dev. weird.

hey all! long time no see! ive been hard at work on some new stage designs. i wont spoil much, but its some of the best art that i have put into this game yet. well worth the wait, trust me!

in other news, im waist deep in course work in my game dev classes, and im having some of the most fun in a class that i have probably ever had over the entirety of my schooling. it's incredible ^^.

also, because my website is down, i will probably be using my facebook page for all my updates from now until the next time i can get it to work.

man, so recently ive been introduced to vector and matrix mathmatics in c++ code. this has got me thinking about potential new platforms for making my stuff with. im very comfortable with c++ by this point, so im curious. are there any user friendly game development tools that you all know of that has a good amount of c++ support?

The only one I spontaneously know of would be Unreal. Dunno if that might be a bit of an overkill, but then again I use Unity for 2D games as well... And you're right on time since Unreal seems to have become more or less free of charge lately (and it wasn't expensive before either).

unreal is my first thought, as well. i kinda was also thinking of projectFUN, which is a very unknown program but it feels really familiar since ive been using it the past little while in school. i dunno.

ok, so yeah. wow. the website keeps acting super weird for me, so i dont know how often ill be able to post here, but a quick update to this: as this game is on haiatus, i have been focusing a lot on my school course for game devving. one of my assignments i was to do starting two weeks ago was make a game in any engine i liked. i have taken the product of this, and am considering doing it as a solo project, one seperate from most of our projects that we do as a team. it will be known as blitzkampfer, or blitzfighter. dunno which ill choose officially. anyways, its an open world space shmup with bullet hell style enemies. everything is highly randomized and runs off a timeline. its super fun to mess with! ill be posting a forum for it soon, so stay tuned.

other than that, i haven't been working on this too much, but i expect to restart work on verigans revenge in late january, early february.

hey all, good news. the environmental artist on our team is now working on improving art on his off time! this means we will have a much prettier game in the long run, but it is also a problem as the game itself wont go anywhere in the meantime. also, ill be posting a few of the updated images with time, so stay tuned. ill relay any advice on the art to the artist himself.

Hey all, long time no see! Good news, we swapped to u2d. Because of this, we can now put vr on any major mplatform without a problem! Another great thing is that we are now doing a complete overhaul of vr, meaning we are redoing literally every asset in the game, including all enemies and players. Other than that, we also have a new pr guy, timothee, who i myself got to know over the digipen academy. Hes insane, one of the most hyperactive dudes you will ever meet. We also picked up another new coder, though he hasnt done muh quite yet. Hes will, the coder from my three man team at digipen. hes really calm and collected. He can probably be a good counterbalance for the team if shit hits the fan so to speak.

Anyways, yeah other than that not much. Firearrowgames.net got a makeover visually, and we got a company gmail. Thats about it, really.
Yes, to clarify, the site IS back up, but its firearrowgames.net, not .com.

Okay guys, im having a hell of a frustrating time here trying to get 2d collision working in unity2d. I need the player to collide with and stay on top of the ground but the game is just saying "nope. Not possible" and my player falls through the ground. This is SO annoying, and i have no idea how to fix it. A little help?

hey again. so yeah, i figured out how to set up my own solid collision and movement code. seems like it'll work well.
i failed c# coding at the tech institute i studied at, so now im truly on my own on this one. however, im having fun
with trying to pull this off! its a challenge, and i always accept a good challenge! heres to my attempting to learn c#!

hey all! so a bit of an update.

first off, we lost a couple team members. first off, we lost a coder. he didnt do too much, honestly, so it isnt a huge loss but he will be sorely missed for his guidance in learning and applying c# code. second, we had one of our newly recruited team members drop out to do his own game stuff. since he hadn't been tested quite yet, it sucks we couldnt see him in action.

anyways, we are now looking for a coder for the team! if your cool with getting paid based on how we sell, shoot me an email at [email protected].

in other, more productive news, we have decided to not keep one solid character design for the main character, but rather do the super fun mechanic known as cosmetic shops.
to explain a bit, though im sure a lot of you have used this kind of system before, we have the main character as one base sprite and will overlay clothing items onto the main character based on selections you all as players choose at the shop, which will be point based. this is all kind of metaphorical right now, since we dont have someone doing dedicated code right now, but it seems like it'll be fun in the future!

uhm, other than that we are pretty much done the layout for the first redone stage. all we need to do now is implement the player and enemies and we should be good to go for a small demo! that'll be fun.

other than that, nothing huge is going on rn! we're doing our best, so bear with us!

Okay, so a lot has happened recently, in fact a rather significant amount.

First off, we have fired and rehired an entirely new team, and we've gone from lazy bastards to people sitting around every night concepting and working on the website, as well as, in the case of our concept artist, singing hard rock full blast for hours on end. Its like i somehow managed to hire a younger team meat (the dudes who made super meat boy). Its a lot of fun, but its completely different from how i imagined the original team. Change'll do that, i guess.

Secondly, we have reworked the website. Its now a lot cleaner for pc users. (Still working on cleaning the iphone site, bear with us/me!) as well as starting a regular blog. This'll be a weekly dealio, so keep checking in!

Finally, we have art to show off. Sadly im not at my laptop as i write this, but ill be on later, so check this post in a couple hours for that!

Aight, thats all i WANT (keyword is want) to share for now, expect a playable demo later this year/early 2017!

alright.... so. i strayed incredibly far from my original objective of improving my art with this. im sad to say that i have officially dissolved the team i was working with. im back on my own, probably permanently, or at least until i can solidly lead a team... i cant help but feel i dont have enough experience to lead a team competently, so im on my own again, for now.

i have also decided to stop working on this. possibly permanently, im not sure.
but yeah, ill be putting 90% of my focus on blitzkampfer. look forward to it! ^^;
