...that there is no actual honest-to-god walkthrough for La-Mulana? All I can find is this guide that lists all the items, and a lot of video walkthroughs which are totally useless unless you follow the exact same route that they took.

If this is the case then I think I will finish the game (hard part) and write a walkthrough myself (easy part).

I still can't get ANYWHERE in La Mulana. At ALL. I get to the waterfall part right at the beginning and I'm toast.

Well, I've gotten a bit further than that by poring over the wiki, item guide, and maps. But it does make me wonder how anybody worked this stuff out on their own.

i just watched a lot of the 70-part 'lets play' by deceased crab

its very informative and is more fun then trying to figure it out on your own if your bad at games

Yeah I ended up doing the same for a couple parts. The game is really frickin hard but totally worth it. And be sure to read the manual that is installed with it cause you want to get the 'grail' as soon as possible and that is the only place where they teach you how to use it.
