>> DOWNLOAD (1.25 MB) <<This idea has been bugging me for a while, so I made it. Basically, it's exactly what it sounds like. It procedurally generates random music. Infinitely. And never stops. It's not GOOD music, per se, but it's still rad to listen to. That is, if you enjoy horrible music. Anyway, feel free to suggest stuff. I'll probably add in choosable (and better) instruments and whatnot later, and mayhap even a bassline to go with it. Also, I need help with a better name. Seriously, "random music generator" is sort of not that good.

I love you. Export to ogg/mp3/midi PLEASE. Maybe like... Press <x> button to create new track. You specify length, instruments, whatever you decide to do. Length is definitely necessary. Then if you like it you can export. Please do this.

Problem with exporting is that it's actually a single sound effect played at different frequencies at different times, so yeah >_>
If I find a DLL that allows recording, then I'll try to implement it. But until then, you can just record with stereo mix+audacity.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely look into it.

Yeah, I thought of that.
The problem right now though is that I can't exactly mix and match what I like and don't out of what's playing.
Definitely add a length option, it could help vurrrry much.
This is a bit more specific, and for later on. But the ability to select a certain part of a track and 're-generate' would be great.

Finally!!! I've been waiting for something like this!
Tried it out and it's pretty cool so far. The generated patterns are nice, can't wait to see when this project evolves into true awesomeness!

I've always been interested in sound/music synthesis, but I've been too lazy to actually research techniques and try to code something myself.
The program works fairly well, and generates some catchy segments, but never an entire catchy song. At best, I would string myself together some of those tunes to make a half decent song.
Also, the program crashes when I close it.

This is hilarious.
Also it's better with multiple windows open simultaneously.

Dang, every once in a while it produces something really pretty. With no way to export, though, I guess I still have to write my own melodies. Frig. Nice program, anyway. :D

Wow, didn't expect this much feedback in such little time. Thanks, I'll consider changing some stuff and adding some ideas.
Also, any name suggestions?

Wow, this is great. Random, yes, but it almost sounds like you put some structure to it. There are actually frequent patterns! With recording ability, this would be oh so useful.

This is pretty cool. Although if I recorded a 1 minute song there would be parts where it sounds lame mixed in with parts that sound incredibly awesome. But I guess you cannot get around that, due to it's randomness.

This is cool. I have three windows open, and I like the sound it's making.
People who want to record: Try Audacity. If you set your recording device as "windows sound mapper" it should record everything you hear coming through your speakers.
