I have never played everyday shooter, and as such, without a demo I don't think I'll buy it

Soooo fun. Played it for 3-4 sessions so far even though I have work tomorrow. I've only gotten to the fifth level (the RTS-themed one with all the turrets and tanks) with 1600ish points, but I'm loving it so far. I keep discovering new intricacies and strategies for the earlier levels that make them even more fun to play. It has that great balance where you can focus either on survival or mastery. No regrets here.

what's with all the bitching and moaning about demos all about? jesus christ you guys? it seriously is one of the best games ive ever played. indie or not. and its EIGHT DOLLARS.
$ $ $ $ $ $ $ $
that's how many dollars. that's like... two beers. do you ask for a beer demo before buying beer? well, DO YOU? NO. you just buy it. like a man. and you get drunk on it.
trust me. trust me on this one thing. ES is FUCKING AMAZING. do you like shapes? colors? music? interactivity? if you answered yes to one of those questions, THEN BUY IT.

Generally demos are more important for PC games than say, previews are for movies, because there's always the very real possibility that the game will just not work on your computer.
Also I don't think this game is conveyed particularly well in a trailer.
Also "What if god made you a little glowing dot and the music in your head had no where to go but out?" is inane.

Of course I bought it but I consider Droid Assault to be the better option if one has $10 to spend. Which doesn't mean that Everyday Shooter isn't a good game - I simply had (and have) more fun playing Droid Assault. ^^

I dunno if it'd work on my computer without a demo. My PC randomly runs some stuff horribly slow.

Thanks to Paypal taking 10 bucks more then I asked them too out of my bank account, I managed to get this no problem! It's really fun! I've managed to get past a couple levels, I like the second one most so far.

Excellent, I've been waiting for this for years!
I wonder, anyone up for a game of Queasy's other game, Gate88?

And it's good.

I loved that trailer! I declare you to be wrong, sir! I dunno if it'd work on my computer without a demo. My PC randomly runs some stuff horribly slow.
I can almost guarantee that slowdown will not be an issue. I don't think the game is trying to push any hardware boundaries. Because it's too busy being awesome.

I didn't say the trailer was bad, just that I don't think it conveyed the sense of the game really well, and also the text was nonsense. Also re: I can almost guarantee that slowdown will not be an issue. I don't think the game is trying to push any hardware boundaries.
From the indiegames blog comments: . . . and this WOULD happen to me. Of course it doesn't run on my crap-tacular laptop. Now I have to wait until I find a good machine to run it on D:

I don't believe that those people aren't running it on laptops that cost £50 seven years ago.
I like EDS. It is quite lovely. My current goal is not to lose on level 3.

Apparently it was an issue with the game not running well unless your display is set for 32 bit color.

As in the desktop display? My desktop is at 32bit and it runs pretty poorly for me (fullscreen). Luckilly it runs brilliantly at work

I'm stuck there too. Anyone figured out yet how to chain things in that level?

Do you mean Lush Look Killer? I've found two ways to kill loads of stuff, but I'm not sure if they count as chaining: #1: Attack the slightly bigger marching robots. When they explode they appear to let off a smart bomb. #2: Attack the yellow/orange floating things to kill everything in their radius. You can expand that radius by shooting them a couple of times and letting them recover in between.

Yeah, I made it to halfway through level 4 this morning I think the bigger robots, when shot, cause all of the robots walking towards the eyes to explode (you know, they're always either walking away from an eye or towards it).

Level 5, woo! Level 4 is MUCH easier than 3, it almost felt like a bonus stage. But level 5 caught me off guard and I died in the first 10 seconds... d'oh!
Amazing game is amazing.
