It would be cool if it were in the vein of Zone of the Enders.

So, the logo gives a hint at his new game... anyone have thoughts on the new Kojima riddle?

im actually kind of surprised there WASN'T a metal gear pachinko already, seeing as there are a bunch based on castlevania and other konami videogame IPs. i guess kojima prevented it?

More like unexpected massive sales (unlike silent hills)
To understand the context was that console gaming was dead and mobile is the future, none of the main console sold well in japan with even the wii U outselling ps4 at some moment (splatoon release). The situation was dire and a lot of people start packing up out if the market.

Can`t understand why people are getting worked up about it. It`s a completely different market.
Now if they start releasing mobile games or going down some travesty route a la Capcom I`ll get my pitchfork ready...
(wait, no, not really. I`m not a MGS fanatic. I think I respect the series by default, but only truly enjoyed the PS one)

Never underestimate the power of Pachinko! [...] "What's up, Tomonobu Itagaki?" I said, my politeness half-joking. "This is the mayor talking," he said. (Okay, he didn't really say that. Let's pretend he did.)
"Yeah?"
"Listen to me."
"Okay."
"You need to start playing pachinko. You need to play it every day. You need to start playing pachinko as soon as possible if you want to learn the truth about yourself."
". . . That's it?"
"That's it." [...] In Praise Of Sticky Friction

i don't get why everyone's so mad at pachinko machines tbh. this machine probably cost 1% of the budget of mgs5 to develop, i highly doubt it somehow interferes with other MGS stuff or is the reason why kojima was fired or some shit. plus konami has been in the pachinko biz for a long time and has made machines based on castlevania and other IPs, so it's not like this is exactly shocking.

the big thing that made me interested in the trailer showed during the conference was the claim that it was "real-time,"
but also it's just aesthetically interesting as fuck. i wanna know more, which means, good. now show more.

More. Today, during the YouTube Live broadcast hosted by Geoff Keighley, Hideo Kojima provided more information on the newly announced Death Stranding by Kojima Productions.
Below you can read a recap of what was shared:
- Kojima-san still hasn’t picked an engine for the game, but there are a couple of candidates. - Guillermo Del Toro is not involved in the game for now. - The mascot “Ludens” isn’t involved with the game. - The game will have a lot of action elements. - After a few hours of playing, players will realize that Death Stranding is a completely different game from what they have played before. - The setting is a secret. - Kojima-san wants people to speculate on what they saw in the trailer. - The main character’s name is still a secret. - It will take some time before we’re able to play the game. - Kojima-san explained the meaning of the title: You talk about “mass stranding” when there are a lot of whales or dolphins stranded on the beach. It’s called “live stranding” when they’re alive, and “dead stranding” when they’re dead. The meaning of the title is that something came from “some world” and is stranded. Source
