EDIT: Well, apparently more people know about it than I had thought; I think it must be because of that Guide to the Apostrophe, because I was quite sure it never became that popular, and I KNOW that it's never been in published in more than a couple newspapers.

It's a sweet indie cartoon that ends up being just a bunch of random, highly entertaining stuff, but most importantly, it is in print as well as online, so you know it's not complete internet crap.

Here are a few of my favorites; they're pretty varied, so if you don't like one do still read the others:

A new strip is posted at www.angryflower.com every Friday.

Oh, and the author, Stephen Notley, works at PopCap.....on Peggle.....

I've heard of this, but I had no idea the artist worked at PopCap. That's pretty cool.

I didn't know until a few weeks ago when I was at this panel he held; it was a really great time, and I bought a couple of the older books and got them signed, which was cool.

All of this coming from someone who really isn't in to cartoons/comics/manga.

I thought it was pretty famous...

My english teacher in secondary school had the apostrophe rant one stuck to the wall in her class. I've never really been into the strip though, aside from a few glances now and then.

How in the world did you come to the conclusion that:
I'm pretty sure almost no one here has heard of Bob the Angry Flower
?

Can't say I've been there since the beginning, but definitely before 2000. I've been reading since BEFORE he started at PopCap (Anyone remember the one where he packs a bowl at immigration?) because so many of my interest keep showing up like Star Control and Doctor Who.

And thank you very much for making me look all of those up. Still missing the one where he escapes in a vux intruder and get's nowhere. And there were a few sacrilegious ones, like one where he becomes super Jesus and another where he gains salvation at the cost of a desire for charity. But I'm not wasting any more time on that site today.

So, you mean you were into it when it was still underground?

Oh man, I  saw this like...Almost a decade ago.  I remember one about pancakes (Which I found, lo and behold(http://www.angryflower.com/timelo.gif)).  Sheesh, I remember laughing my ass off at that.

That's basically all I have to say.

Hmm, I have to say I'm sort of surprised that so many people have heard of it.  I'll take it that when it came out, the Guide to the Apostrophe must have garnered the cartoon more attention than I had thought.  Because it's never been published in more than a few papers, and most of them have been in Edmonton, not exactly a trend setting city (except for our world class recycling...but that's not exactly "cool").
