Cancer Wars is going to be a game for charity, with a hard hitting topic as it's theme.

Early Prototype Video -

This was more a play with the potential look of the game on an Asteroids framework, what do you think of the look?

Using BlitzMax and the very nice TimelineFX particles effects generation system.

I like the look of the cancer cells. I'm just curious about the aim for the game. Is it about wish fulfillment? Does it depict a battle that you can't win (with lasers)?

The concept is a fun exploration of the potential future of nanoscale robotics in medical applications, in this case the battle against cancer.

Think of a future where tiny nanoscale robots can be injected into patients and deliver targetted treatments directly to problem areas.

I like to think of it as smart nano weapons used for good hence the title cancer wars, after all if we can have a war on terror why not have a war on cancer or any other disease?

Very humanitarian, great idea, that certainly is a future, if we manage to cure the presence: pollution, destruction of our environment and of course, get rid of the NWO, which is the cause of all of that.

Were already starting to use human controlled robots on the battlefield and surgical robots in the operating theater, they enhace the surgeons precision.

So maybe in the future we could use human controlled nanobots to perform medical operations.

Just not the self replicating kind, that would be scary!

Very nice. Also, interesting topic. I wonder how you are going to get around the problem of slippery slope (as I've seen, the cancer cells in your video replicate).

I have been working on an immunity system shmup game myself and been meaning to have cancer as one of the bad guys, but the slippery slope remains one of the problems for me. If you want a hint, the only thing that made the concept remotely playable were area of effect attacks (huge bombs).
