The whole point is that all of these are impossible, because they all use infinity, and infinity does not follow the normal rules of math.

Nor is all the maths.
There's more than one? I don't like all these maths.

Replace 'normal rules of math' with 'rules dealing with finite quantities' and I agree with you. Notions of the infinite follow many and varied (though perfectly normal and well-behaved) mathematical rules

I know it's wrong, but I am terrified of things that are identical.
You should like 'real numbers' then; people never are *really* talking about equality of numbers (rather membership of equivalence classes)*. Or, even better, some strains of constructive mathematics, where there is no notion of equality at all, only inequality (you can never tell if one number is equal to another number in these systems). What about illusions like this? What about concentric circles? Interesting though, though it sounds pretty awful (*well ok this is only one way of phrasing things, but whatever.)

The TIGS website must be pretty hardcore to take so long to fix. The PC gamer magazine has published a link to the demake compo feature but at the moment it just falls on a dead link

x=.9 repeating *10 10x=9.9rep -x 9x=9 /9 x=1
Yeah, .999... = 1. It's exactly for the reason increpare said, the real numbers are equivalence classes of Cauchy sequences (or can be, anyway), and the sequence {0.9,0.99,0.999,...} converges to 1.

I also want to break maths: 2 + ∞ = 1

There's a 0 at the end of infinity. It's just as interesting as
∞ + ∞ = ∞ -> ∞ = ∞ - ∞ -> ∞ = 0
Which also is incorrect. And boring.
I think saying .999... * 10 = 9.999... seems much more sensible than subtracting infinity from infinity. Does it lead to any illogical results?

Since 0.999...=1, 10*0.999...=10*1=10=9.999...
So no, nothing weird happens. Actually you're guaranteed reasonable results by the fact that the relation used to build the real numbers is an equivalence relation, meaning it always partitions the set it acts on.
Which is to say that you're guaranteed that any Cauchy sequence of rational numbers 'represents' a real number and that if any two equivalence classes intersect, they are the same class.
Real numbers just have multiple representations in terms of their decimal expansions, but thanks to the equivalence relation, you can always know they will behave themselves regardless which expansion you choose to write.
