Rapture!:

The year is 2012, and the Rapture has occurred.  The world is over, and those who were faithful are getting into heaven.

Your job, as the guardian of the gates of Heaven, is to keep the infidels from breaching the gates.  Let one through and it is all over!

Game status:
I didn't want to post anything until I had a functional game.  I have finished up to the point that I now have a game that will play in early, early alpha stages.  The game starts, you can place units, enemy units spawn, take damage, and the game can end.  At this point I have almost no graphics (I'm using sub graphics) or sound effects at this point, but the coding is done for basic game play.

I have the data put together to create the units and a monetary system set up for progression.  I hope to add upgrades and tiered difficulty levels before the contest is done.

To Do:
1) create a title screen, how to play screen
2) get some graphics put into the game
3) create hero unit stats
4) create enemy unit stats
5) create 'saved' units stats(those who can get into heaven, ie Mormons, Jehova's Witnesses, etc)
6)Balancing
7)Sound effects

Because it's a game. Besides, the player could be god, or an angel, or whoever is supposed to be on the door that night.

Obviously the player is not a random guy, but Harold Camping.

I believe traditionally it's St. Peter who stands at the Pearly Gates.

Well, according to Catholic tradition, yes.  If you go by the Bible it's actually Jesus himself who judges who goes to heaven or hell.  "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad." 2 Cor 5:10

Anyway, I don't think it's kupo's aim to strictly follow a belief system, or a system that he holds to.  So it's fiction.  So it's a moot point anyway.
