It was on the outside wall of the expo floor, just south of the IGF - it's called the Z-Dome. Not really sure on details other than that, though I did find this video (http://www.vimeo.com/712305).

Yeah, it's just basically a curved screen which has the image projected all around the person using it; I've seen things like it before.

I took a look, but the concept, while cool, doesn't really work all that well.

Yeah, I actually played Assassin's Creed on it during the expo. Every single light from that room was reflecting in the dome and it really hurt my eyes. Just imagine annoying monitor glare except in every direction.

So yeah, it might be really cool but I wouldn't know.

Yeah Z Dome is what it's called, I thought it rocked.  Might have been a little rough around the edges but way better than most of the weird gimmicks out on the floor.

No matter how big your TV screen gets, it's still just a flat rectangle and will do a poor job at accurately filling your peripheral.  Wrapping an image sphere around your head really cranks up the immersion.  Some day we'll have a 360º viewing orb with Dolby 700.1!

I had a chat with one of the dudes running the booth. Apparently they can surround people using multiple domes and projectors, but the expo people wouldn't let him 'cos it took up so much space. He seemed pretty bummed about it.

Their website doesn't seem to mention it though, so maybe the noise and bright lights induced a hallucination.

i played it VS my little brother years and years ago.
it was so fucking confusing.
and sickening.

When I was at Darrien Lake many years ago. They had one of those, but it was playing duke nukem 3d.
