Oh nice. I was thinking about that one, creating some sort of glitchfest.

Can't wait too see what you'll make of this.

Too bad he makes good games. Otherwise "Terry-ble" would be an option.

Terry's games are Terry-ble for our productivity?

No reason you can't both do this one too!

Haha. I'm probably gonna end up doing something glitchy no matter what I pick.

Yeah, I guess so :)

I sorta officially started working on this today after finishing up the last of the smaller side projects I was working on last night. At this point I basically just have a whole bunch of incoherent ideas and I'm not really that sure how it's all going to fit together yet. I'll update this thread as soon as I have something real to show :)

Today I did a little messing around with Papervision (http://distractionware.com/games/flash/proto/), the flash library that I'm going to use for part of the game! I think I've got something working that I'll be able to use :) (navigation is pretty horrible right now, WASD+Arrows, and that model won't actually be in the game)

I like the perspective you're using, it's as if you were zooming the view but you are in fact moving around.

Was about to say the same thing. It's a bit awkward to work with, but very cool. Are you going to do lo-res textures, voxels, or just 2D sprites in a 3D space?

Well, he mentioned that control style won't be in the full game, and I agree that's the better idea, because this is way too clunky.

This could look great.

Sorry I haven't posted about this in a while.

This has been an extremely difficult game for me - I started with some basic concepts that I wanted to explore, and had a few ideas about how I wanted to do it, but the development process has been slow and painful and blind for the most part; I don't really know how this is going to play yet, or what it's really about beyond one or two basic ideas. However, the last couple of days have been really great! I'm finally starting to get a feel for where it's going and how I'm going to bring my very separated ideas together.

I don't think it's very likely that I'll have it finished by the deadline. But I'm not too worried about that. Anyway, I've sorta deviated quite a lot from the cover I chose.

Second screenshot looks intriguing. Also, I always say no concept is the best concept.

Looking forward to play this thingie ;)

I can definitely see the influences though. This looks like an intriguing romp.

The covers are for inspiration. You game doesn't necessarily have to remind people of the cover right away, you can be inspired by it however way you like, even if it's not obvious at first, or at all, what you took from it. So don't worry too much about it.

I like how it's looking. Good luck! ;D:handthumbsupR:
