Title: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: J. Kyle Pittman on June 28, 2010, 01:00:26 PM Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine
Download INSTALLER (http://www.j-kyle.com/pinkbunny/PinkBunny_Install_2010-07-31_02-00.exe) (2.28 MB, recommended!) ZIP ARCHIVE (http://www.j-kyle.com/pinkbunny/PinkBunny_Archive_2010-07-31_02-00.zip) (0.97 MB, up-to-date D3D version required; I don't want to hear you whining about missing DLLs if you download this one!) How to play Use the mouse to move and shoot. I guess you can also use the keyboard or whatever. (http://www.j-kyle.com/pinkbunny/instr1.png) You play as this. (http://www.j-kyle.com/pinkbunny/instr2.png) You want to kill the crap out of this. (http://www.j-kyle.com/pinkbunny/instr3.png) Collect this to shoot moar bullets. P.S. This game is dumb and it will make you dumb by proxy. P.P.S. I recommend drinking heavily. Also while playing this game. P.P.P.S. Check out how I cleverly fictionalized away the lack of audio so subtly you didn't even notice. I rock. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink Pink Bunny Machine! Post by: Melly on June 28, 2010, 01:15:13 PM You're encouraged to take the game in your own direction. Good luck!

Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink Pink! Bunny Machine Post by: J. Kyle Pittman on July 01, 2010, 09:24:01 PM I made a sprite. Yay.
(http://www.j-kyle.com/pinkbunny/pinkbunny_sprite.png) Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink Pink! Bunny Machine Post by: Inanimate on July 01, 2010, 09:58:40 PM That sprite is adorable.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink Pink! Bunny Machine Post by: skyy on July 02, 2010, 12:01:17 AM that's awesome. I like it. Nice work :D
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink Pink! Bunny Machine Post by: Melly on July 05, 2010, 02:26:48 PM Like how you made the bunny into a girl in a bunny suit.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine Post by: J. Kyle Pittman on July 06, 2010, 10:46:55 PM Slow progress is slow. Got some paramallaxing layers happening.

Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: J. Kyle Pittman on July 27, 2010, 07:23:46 PM FINISHED!! See the original post (http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=13411.msg400140#msg400140) for download links, instructions, self-deprecating humor, etc.
(http://www.j-kyle.com/pinkbunny/game.png) Oh, and I should mention that I'm using this as a test of some of my recent engine features like version checking and stats gathering, so if your antivirus software is as overzealous as mine, you might get a pop-up saying HEY THIS PROGRAM IS TRYING TO ACCESS THE INTERNET OH NOES. That's cool. If you don't want to provide anonymous hardware stats, you can edit your Config\Prefs.ini file to say: Quote GatherUserInfo: false Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: Wilson Saunders on July 27, 2010, 08:18:10 PM That is awesome. The CRT curve is a nice effect.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: Melly on July 27, 2010, 09:02:03 PM Haha, that curved TV screen effect is boss. No sounds though? :(
Overall the game's simple and fun, enjoyable for a short run. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: Inanimate on July 27, 2010, 09:44:23 PM Fantastic graphics and style.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: J. R. Hill on July 27, 2010, 09:52:34 PM The CRT is possibly my favorite part...
Although "Suddenly Bullet Hell" was a nice surprise haha. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: ThetaGames on July 28, 2010, 07:57:20 AM Quite funny, and was pretty fun to play. As others have said, the CRT-effect is very well-done. Also, I think the way you "fictionalized away" the audio more than made up for the lack of audio.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: miconazole on July 28, 2010, 11:22:42 PM This is really polished and well-put-together :D I wish there were sound though :DD
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: moonmagic on July 28, 2010, 11:46:01 PM "SUDDENLY BULLET HELL!"
Mad carrot sprite: so good! Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: oyog on July 29, 2010, 09:13:47 AM AAAAHHHHHHHhhHHHHHhhhHHH!!!
I make my own sound effects... :biglaff: Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: moonmagic on July 29, 2010, 09:59:16 AM "pew pew, pew pew"
I like the mute because it reminds me of playing games like this at two in the morning at a slumber party, trying not to wake anyone else up. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: sexysexybicycle on July 29, 2010, 11:52:08 AM Just downloaded and finished this. LOVED IT!
I'm a shmup noob, but shit gots a lot easier when I realized you could use the mouse. Durrr... Great style. Fun stuff! Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: deathtotheweird on August 11, 2010, 04:08:18 PM Really enjoyed this, it's a shame there is only one level.
Mouse controls made me very happy, as I'm usually terrible. I kept trying to press m and looked in the config for a way to turn on audio. Then I realized the joke :P Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! HILARIOUS!! ;D Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: Dustin Smith on August 13, 2010, 06:21:33 PM "pew pew, pew pew" I like the mute because it reminds me of playing games like this at two in the morning at a slumber party, trying not to wake anyone else up. When I was young my room was right next door to my parents; I had to mute the TV so they wouldn't catch me up at odd hours of the night. I have gotten busted by mashing my controller too loudly, though. :) Fun stuff, reminds me of playing Aero Star for the Gameboy when I was a wee lad. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: Soulliard on August 24, 2010, 05:07:37 PM This game got a lot easier when I realized you could use the mouse.
It's a fun little game. While the mechanics are nothing I haven't seen before, the graphics are nice and look very authentic. Sounds would have added a lot though (and could have easily been made with SFXR). Title: Re: [AGBIC] Pink! Pink! Bunny Machine [FINISHED] Post by: Noyb on August 28, 2010, 12:59:55 PM That retro filter is absolutely beautiful. :-*
Solid shooter, though I had no idea where the collision bounds were on my sprite in the second phase of the boss. |
