Onion Warriors
Muscle Adventure
(http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/995/detoidonions.png)

 :handpointR: DOWNLOAD: http://www.box.net/shared/9v9qm9nn9n (http://www.box.net/shared/9v9qm9nn9n) Windows

:handpointR: The game is a top down puzzle game. You control three "Onions" that you must navigate through a maze in order to reach the exit. These "onions" will be able to push certain "objects" across the maze. These "objects" include "logs" and "boulders". You will guide these "onions" across countless levels in order to reach the final castle.

:handpointR: What will make Deltoid Onions different, is the controlling of three different characters. Each one will be needed the complete the level. You will have to have them work together to pass each level.

  :handpointR: Sprites: Onion 1 (http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/5708/onion1.gif) Onion 2 (http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/3937/onion2s.gif)

:handpointR: Main Title Screen (I know its not exciting) (http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/1803/mainscreent.png)

:handpointR: Being made in Game Maker. (Only because I am not yet skilled in C++)

 :handpointR: None.

Oh hey there, game catridge-twin! It's pretty cool to see someone else look at the same art and come up with a totally different concept. I'll definitely be playing this one :D

Yep, I'm looking forward to playing your game too. Good luck.

Anywho, Game is coming on pretty darn well. Movement and collisions are done, the method of switching control between two onions is working well, and pushing objects is about to get started. So yeah. Screenshot.

I like the gritty high contrast pixels, they look like they come from a different age.

Cute graphics, look forward to see what you do with this.  ;)

Progress: Good!  :handthumbsupL: :eyebrows: :handthumbsupR:

Switching between all three onions is finished! Pushing around objects... Finished. Buttons that turn on and off walls: Eh, not done well yet.

As for musical direction here, where should I go? Western? Chip tune? Something else???

Yes, I'm still working on this. :shrug2: Pretty much the only thing that remains is creating content. So yeah.

I'm glad you're still working on this! I was just thinking about it earlier today. It's good to see you haven't given up either :D

This is looking very quirk-ish. Intentional, or wild coincidence?

This is, of course, a good thing either way.

Oh man, do you mean Kwirk for the Game Boy?  That game kept me sane from Manitoba to British Columbia.

This says, "Adventures of Lolo!" to me, which subsequently says, "fun!"

I wish this game could be as awesome as Adventures of Lolo or Kwirk. But alas, designing puzzles is a lot harder then I thought it would be.

Anyways, I added some ugly puke colored logs that should spice things up a little.(http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/126/screeny3.png)

That was pretty fun! I'm impressed how much gameplay you managed to pack into such a little game. And, of course, it's really interesting to see such a completely different take on the same cover. I guess the heat is on for me now, haha. If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go back to my buggy-ass graphics and half-finished code.

I enjoyed that a great deal! A very interesting Sokoban variant. Some of the levels felt a little clumsy - extraneous rocks/logs, or puzzles that seemed to be designed for two characters with a third awkwardly stuffed in - but there were more than enough good puzzles for me to recommend the game.

Nice game!  I really like the Arabic-sounding, NES-style music; the drone in the background is a nice touch.

This reminds me so much of old Dos puzzle games; The music, the art, even the level titles...

I really like this game, but there's a bug that sometimes allows an onion to walk past the carpet into the camel and get stuck there making it impossible to finish the level.

Thanks a lot for the positive feedback.  :-* It rewarding to know that other people enjoyed playing my game as much as I liked making it.

As this is my first attempt making puzzles of any type, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

Thanks for the support guys.  :coffee:

Argh!!!  Why!?

I'm stuck on Checkerboard.  I'll have to try again when I have had more sleep and less vodka.

The music reminds me of Wild Snake for SNES...

EDIT:  "If you get stuck in a wall or in your horse don't worry too much."

THIS IS MY GREATEST FEAR!   :epileptic:

I'm a huge sucker for these multi-character puzzle games.  I like the exotic music and general palette selection.  Too bad I get stuck in the wall and horse way too much for me to enjoy the game.  >:

Is Checkerboard actually beatable? I can't figure it out for the life of me. :wtf:

Either way, the game's pretty enjoyable, however the difficulty is a little all over the place. The first levels are very easy, and then you have a sudden jump in difficulty with Checkerboard (which I mentioned still being stuck on).

I also like the graphics and the music, though the scaling method you used causes some strange graphical artifacts for me.

It seems like I can only walk through walls/horses when I'm holding down the space key, which for some reason is all the time.  As long as I don't land on the horse or on a wall block I can use the same exploit outside the level to get back in.

That said, I beat the game legitimately and agree with what Melly said.  Checkerboard is definitely the hardest rock puzzle, and for the log levels, Tight Spaces seemed harder than the final level.

Also, +100 points for having a better ending screen than I had.

Great little game you've got here. I found it quite easy, but it did keep me playing until the end. A lot of the puzzles have several solutions and don't require you to use everything, but that's not really an issue I suppose. I enjoyed it immensely. Good work.

Nice sokoban puzzles. The tight spaces one was really satisfying to solve. Only thing which seemed unintuitive were the two discrete sets of switches/blocks in that one checkerboard level where two onions were by the exit and one was trapped near a checkerboard pattern of stones and holes.
