Title: AS3 or Flixel Programmer needed for Anything Beats Everything! Post by: Dom2D on July 08, 2010, 12:00:02 PM Hi! I'm looking for someone to help me finish http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=8549.0 (http://"Anything Beats Everything"). I've been working on this game for quite a while now. I created a small prototype in AS3, then dumped it because the code was awful - it was my first programming experience. Then I went and learned AS3 properly, made a couple games, then I'm stuck here without enough time to finish Anything. It's making me really sad. (http://dom2d.squarespace.com/storage/pictures/InterfaceTitle.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1268621933390) The game's a frantic, happy, colorful game of observation with lots of variety within a simple search mechanic. Check out the game's http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=8549.0 (http://"Dev Thread")or its blog for more info. I hope to find a coder to properly structure the game and make it a reality. It's probably quite basic, really. A sort of tic-tac-toe kinda hub that distributes levels from a huge bank of levels I would create. Levels are pretty basic - clicking on the right thing returns a Win to the hub, clicking on the wrong thing returns a Fail. Then it's all about keeping scores and unlocking "friends" once in a while. It shouldn't be hard, I hope. There's lots of room for complex features like user-created levels, but it's not mandatory for now. The game has gathered some interest from Pixel Prospector and a couple more sites. Derek Yu said he would maybe do some promotion to get more artists to participate. I think this could be a huge success, so I hope you can help. I'm sure we could get a good licensing deal out of it, although I don't plan on doing it for the money. In terms of salary, we'd need to negociate - either we split licensing 50/50, which would be fine by me, or I can provide a small amount of money upfront. Send me a message if you want to chat about money before agreeing to anything. So that's about it, I really really hope I can find a cool and serious programmer for this, it'd make the world a sunny and happy place instead of the dark cloudy depressing place in which I currently live because I don't have time to finish my projects. Thanks! :beg: Title: Re: AS3 or Flixel Programmer needed for Anything Beats Everything! Post by: raleigh on July 08, 2010, 11:49:44 PM Ah, nice looking game! I'm interested in doing this for the iPhone.
As for Flash... I have a graphics engine done in C that I've only used for the iPhone, but I bet it would be pretty easy to port it to Flash using Alchemy. Post by: Jonathan Whiting on July 09, 2010, 12:35:17 AM This is an amazingly simple but neat, sell-able concept, and such attractive graphics, and it's probably something I could do justice to. If it wasn't for my day job I'd definitely be all over this.
As it is I'm still mightily tempted, but I'm worried I'd have the same available time issues that you've been having. Still.. grargh! I don't know.. I think what I'm trying to say is I'm willing to give it a shot, but I can't promise it'll work out. Title: Re: AS3 or Flixel Programmer needed for Anything Beats Everything!
