Title: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: tzachs on July 11, 2010, 09:36:51 AM Robolution (adventure game) [FINISHED]
Work so far All that's left are some bug fixes and some extra polish (might add another tune also). Game is done! All known bugs have been fixed... Scrrenshots (http://a.imageshack.us/img829/2199/screeny1.png) (http://a.imageshack.us/img204/8733/screeny2j.png) Download the game (24.5MB) (http://www.bigbluecup.com/games.php?action=detail&id=1336) How to play This is a classic point & click: left mouse button to interact and use inventory, right mouse button to examine. Press Escape to skip some of the cutscenes (but why would you want to do that?). Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: reetva on July 11, 2010, 10:22:07 AM Ooh, I am loving this! The art is stylish and clean, the concept is a great take on the classic robot domination theme. I love the little nod to the engine in the foreground. :) I hope you'll replace the character sprite with your own, though, even if the current one fits the style quite well.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: Melly on July 11, 2010, 11:18:31 AM Looking interesting.
I agree that your own animated robo sprite would look boss. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: astrofra on July 11, 2010, 12:09:07 PM The setting looks very DayOfTheTentacle-ish.
I love that ! Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: B_ill on July 11, 2010, 05:55:19 PM The setting looks very DayOfTheTentacle-ish. I love that ! I thought exactly the same thing! Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: tzachs on July 11, 2010, 11:26:44 PM Thank you, and I was indeed aiming for DOTT style :)
As for the sprite, hopefully I will replace it with original material, I'm keeping this one as a backup in the case I run out of time (which is not so far fetched a possibility) :( Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: Inanimate on July 12, 2010, 12:49:35 AM This sounds like an interesting adventure.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: tzachs on July 17, 2010, 01:39:25 PM Ok, here's an update...
Finished working on the backgrounds, the story and puzzles are also designed to completion. And with that I started working on the characters, here's our hero in my own style (instead of the one from the cover) inside another room. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution Post by: VinceTwelve on July 18, 2010, 08:00:23 PM Woo! Looks great tzachs! Lookin' forward to some hot p&c action!
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution- ALPHA version available Post by: tzachs on August 03, 2010, 12:25:16 AM Thanks for your comments so far guys :)
And thanks a lot for the extension, I wouldn't be able to complete it in time without it... And, finally, the ALPHA version is now ready for download, you can find the link in the first post. There are already two bugs that I know of in this version (they shouldn't get in the way of you finishing the game, though, just cosmetic bugs). I would love some feedback for this, as I still have a couple of days to fix/change things... Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: tzachs on August 06, 2010, 02:48:00 AM Game is now finished ;D
Finally I will get some sleep time... You can download it from the first post. Changes from the previous alpha version: * Fixed several aesthetic bugs * Added music to title screen * Added a default graphics filter which makes the game look nicer * Some graphics improvements * New icon for the exe Enjoy! Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: VinceTwelve on August 06, 2010, 03:37:13 PM Hey congrats on finishing! I'll give it a try as soon as I can! (but I'm busy getting my own entry done ATM :P)
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: Melly on August 06, 2010, 04:54:43 PM Dude, your download link goes a few places before I can get the file. Don't you have something more direct, or is this the best that you can do?
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: tzachs on August 07, 2010, 12:10:43 AM @Vince: Thanks, and that's understandable, that's exactly the reason why I only played one out of your ten alphas :P
@Melly: You can use the direct link here (http://gamejolt.com/freeware/games/robolution/download/3099/). It will save you one click... :P Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: J. R. Hill on August 07, 2010, 04:19:32 AM I want to draw a skull on the sign and swap it with the flag, BUT I CAN'T?? Oh well back to work.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: tzachs on August 07, 2010, 05:41:27 AM You can, but not when the idiot boss robot is around... ;)
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: J. R. Hill on August 08, 2010, 04:46:24 PM I already sent an email to the boss Gloria and he was out of the room. When he was out of the room already, though, I tried sending another email from Isaac just because I didn't know if the computer would be on or off again. I'll try sending another email to the empty chair from Gloria to see if that solves my problem.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: J. R. Hill on August 08, 2010, 04:48:47 PM Hmm, It still won't let me draw on the sign or replace the two signs. Silly just says, "I understand they're the same size but I need to figure out how I can use that knowledge."
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: tzachs on August 08, 2010, 10:26:34 PM Hmmmm, I believe you've found a bug (nice one!), but it should still work.
Here's the entire sequence, just in case you missed something: First use the ladder on the sign, to get sign with rope. Then, use sign and rope on yourself to detach them apart (hmmm, I bet that's what you missed, it's probably not too clear). Then paint with markers on the sign to create a fake flag. Send mail to boss from gloria. Enter room and use fake flag on real flag. Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: Melly on August 13, 2010, 09:50:54 PM Played this for a while. Quite charming, and I like the writing you have here, though probably not everything is as amusing as you'd hoped, but still nice stuff. :) I haven't beaten it, but maybe soon I'll give it a better shot.
Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: tzachs on August 14, 2010, 01:42:03 AM Thank you Melly, and I'm sure you're right about not all the jokes were as amusing as I hoped, that's all part of "I did not sleep and wrote this at 3:00 AM"....
I haven't beaten it, but maybe soon I'll give it a better shot. Maybe? No no no!Take a look outside your window, do you see the snipers? They also want to give it a better shot, but I'm holding them back for now... Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: Soulliard on August 24, 2010, 04:57:21 PM I can't play this, unfortunately. I assume it is because my monitor only goes up to a resolution of 1280x800.

Title: Re: [AGBIC] Robolution [FINISHED] Post by: tzachs on August 30, 2010, 11:16:18 PM Oh, sorry for that but you can change the resolution.
Just open the setup, remove the X2 filter, save and play... |
