Title: Compo sub-voting nominations - Best Audio
Post by: Melly on August 12, 2010, 10:13:53 AM
Sub-voting Nominations
Best Audio

So people have been asking me about when would I make those secondary award polls. Driven by the necessity of experimentation and my inherent lazyness to make another goddamn poll of 67 entries, I thought of trying something different. How this goes will dictate my approach to the other awards.

In this thread, each user will nominate 3 games of the compo they believe should run for Best Audio. I'm looking for 10 games to use on the poll. I think this number will make the poll lighter in general, and not look like another huge commitment like the main voting poll.

There are two rules. You MUST nominate 3 entries, no more, no less, and ALL three entries must have audio of some kind.

This thread will go on until I get 15 nominees, then I'll make a poll for everybody to vote on. The poll itself will either be very quick, lasting maybe 3-5 days tops, or depending on input I may make all polls last until the end of the main voting.

This is an experiment. If it doesn't work out I'll go the more traditional route. Thanks everybody for your patience.

I need at least 15 games. I'm still playing through all of them, but if I don't get 15 by the time I do I'll just choose among them to make the polls myself.

I don't care either way, but I figured I should remind you before you finalize the list that 2061 does use borrowed audio from 2001: A Space Odyssey

I was aware, and I don't have a problem with it. I think you used it very well, even if it wasn't yours per se. If people have a problem with that they can just vote for someone else.

I'll be creating the poll as soon as I update the page with some new links I've been supplied.
