Wanna be a voice over star in Monaco?  Do you have the voice of a criminal?  And... while I'm asking, do you have access to good recording equipment?
 
I'm putting out an open call for voice over artists.  This is a paid position, the amount depending on your experience and how much I love your voice.

I keep my eye open for opportunities to do vocals.  Last I got to was Phenomenon 32.  Expect my audition within a few days.  (I do lack good equipment but I've been meaning to buy some.)

EDIT:  Caught the line where I could audition with sub-par audio.  I may.

The catch is, I can send you a demo at the moment but cannot do the full quality version as I have to go on a tour with my band on Saturday.

Righty, lousy links recorded on my laptop, slightly less lousy actual auditions on my edirol R09 except using it's built in mic's and with the settings all wrong so I had to normalise it like mad resulting in it being very hissy. I'll use my proper mic if I get through to the next round...

I took some creative liberties with the writing so I could get the talk flowing in a comfortable way. Pardon the bad equipment (laptop builtin microphone) and horrible acoustics of the room I'm in (concrete dormitory den). I'll be able to use better locations if needed.

I'm not auditioning, but I wanted to point you in the direction of www.voices.com.

They have LOTS of great talent, and a pretty good system for handling payments and requests to change the voice take etc etc.

Is it voice123?  I remember reading a long, well-thought-out rant from a professional voice actor about those sites (at least voice123) not being worth their salt.  :/  Let me see if I can find it..?

...No, I can't.  This (http://www.lanceblair.net/2008/06/voice123-goes-downmarket.html) is similar, though more negative and more actor-focused.  I was interested in that once, but I'm a far cry from 'professional'.

It is Voice123.  Do you know why they are junk?  I've gotten a number of pretty good auditions, though a lot of them have been very "commercial", as in advertising voices.

I think the big issue is Voice123's profit mechanism.  It revolves around attracting people who think they can make a decent living working from home as voice actors with zero experience.  They make most of their money selling "premium memberships" to would-be talents so the people in question can get in contact with job-offerers more easily.  Non-premium memberships simply have artificial restrictions to communication.

A free service would be dramatically more effective, and could be organized easily by voice actors, organizations who need them, or a consortium of both.  Unfortunately, such an organization would fall into obscurity for lack of an advertising budget.

Interesting.  I should say that almost all of the auditions I've gotten are coming from people with resumes and a history of doing voice over.  Though I haven't gotten quite as many as I expected (around 50 or so from voice123)

Great, but I have a question: is this request only open to male voice or are you looking for female voice too?

I've been thinking about opening it up to women too.  This part is for a man but if you read it and your voice is great, perhaps that will convince me to add additional voices.
