Title: Looking for a 2D Artist Post by: Bauleo on February 16, 2012, 02:39:25 PM Hey guys!
I'm looking for a 2D artist to create a few highres sprites/backgrounds/some-other-stuff for me. I cannot post much info on the game here, but I can tell you this: - It's a sidescroller (something like Sunset Riders); - It's based on the culture of a specific brazilian region; - I'm looking for sprites/backgrounds similar to Skullgirls style, but with another theme; - It's being developed for the Windows platform but I may end up porting it to other platforms after it's finished. My plan is to make a one stage demo and try to raise money with crowdsourcing (Hey, Tim Schafer just made $1M in one day! I'm ok with $1M in one month)(Ok, just kidding)(Not about the crowdsourcing, just the $1M stuff) to finish the game. The second option is looking for a publisher (Konami would be nice, I like them... hey, can't a man dream anymore??), the third option is going to a bank for a loan and the last option is using my own money (I work full time as a software architect), but this is *really* the last option since I don't earn a bucket load of money. Anyways, like I said in the title (actually I wrote...) it's a paid job. This first demo I'm using my own money to pay the artist, and the coding I'm doing it myself. IF, and by IF I mean IF AND ONLY IF, I manage to get any of the first 3 funding options, I'll surely have a lot of work in order to finish the game, so it may be a good oportunity to a long-term job. In the case I have to use my own money, things will be a lot slower but are definitely happening! Finally, in the case I fail to get any funding AND get fired from my job (sob), you'll end up getting paid for your artwork anyways, so there is no need to worry. And that's all, folks! Hope to hear from many of you great 2D artists who roam these forums :) Oh yeah! In case more than one artist have interest in this project, I'll pick the one whose style best fits the game theme. Oh yeah[2]! I'll send an email containing all the details about the game once someone is interested :) Oh yeah[3]! I'm looking for artists in many other places, so I may already have hired an artist even if no one replied to this topic. BUT PLEASE if you're interested just let me know! Oh yeah[4]! I didn't say how much I'm paying... well, that's because you're the one telling me how much you want for your artwork! Duh! You don't go to a fish market and say how much you want to pay for the fish, do you?! (But seriously, I'm completely open for negotiations, and since I didn't give any details about the game, there's just no way to put a fixed amount now) Oh yeah[5]! Don't you like the number 5?? I know I do! See y'all! :gomez: Title: Re: Looking for a 2D Artist Post by: ArtisticSliz on February 17, 2012, 01:11:42 AM Hey, I'm Jordan Sliz.
