Yeah, he's a cyborg. Whether or not he's entirely mechanical, he shows evidence of both human and robotic parts, which is cyborg in my book.

Though 'Android' is absolutely applicable, the games are pretty straight and (almost) always use 'Robot' (or more specifically concerning MegaMan and the ones that matter - 'Robot Master')

I'll probably contribute to this when it gets to a character I feel comfortable with.

The very first time I played Cave Story, I thought Quote was a girl. To be precise, I thought the character I was controlling was the Sue mentioned by Kazuma in the opening sequence, probably because of the way that sequence transitions into the first time you see Quote.

Anyway, here's a doodle I did a while ago showing how I saw the Quote sprite during that brief period of time:

Tried a few different versions, but I've always found mario's "small" form odd when compared to his "big" form. Which is the "normal" Mario? Does the shrooms make a tiny guy bigger, or does the Mushroom Kingdom make him tiny, and he needs to scoff shrooms to stay normal? Oh the wonders of gaming. Used a giant Luigi to play on the whole idea.

That said, the sprite gives off this kind of dopey cowboy feel. A lone ranger firing puff balls and ducks out of his wacky guns. So I changed the baseball cap to a stetcon, changed his black top to a poncho and gave his boots spurs on the back of 'em.

If you do make a 3D Cave Story, make sure Quote can only move and shoot in two directions, plus up and down, because that's the way it was in the original game. Also make it 2D for the same reason.

About the model: I don't think his eyes should be as wide open normally.  I think his eye lid should cover a little bit of the top of his eyes. :)

No, Megaman Legends doesn't constrict you to a 2D path. He means like the standard side scrolling platformer, except at certain points the level could twist around.

Megaman Legends style view would probably be the best way to make a truly 3D Cave Story.

Yeah, that is a good way too! MML is a great game. I was just thinking about the 2D sidescroller: but I WOULD rather have it 3D, MML style.

I think I whole new style should be made, like Mario 64 meets Metroid Prime.  That's what I'm thinkin'.

Dude, I don't mean to be a dick or anything, but I kind of doubt that this is a coincidence. The style is way too similar for that. If it's not an orignal sprite and you just edited the one from Pixelation, be a man and admit that you did.

Those are wonderful.  I like wireman's design quite a lot.  Nice and chunky, and they read really well too. I think I prefer them to the originals.

Simple idea really: What would Megaman be like as a RobotMaster?

His main abillities are copying powers, so: Copyman. Just to push it that extra step, I decided to make it in the Battle Network style. I know most of the purists didn't think much of the series (and it was pretty stale on gameplay) but I always liked the boss designs. Merging humanoids with household appliances. So... yeah. Stuff.

The closest Megaman got to RobotMaster was in Zero, but it was X you fought.

Dude, the Zero saga rocks. I always figured he backed himself up using Dr. Light's old holo AI when it degraded to the point where it couldn't maintain the complexity of a human backup.

I haven't played the DS one yet, but I hope to soon enough.

If you mean the lack of perspective on the left arm, then yes! Yes there is. ("Take my strong hand!" ~Scary Movie 2's Butler)

If you meant the sketchy lines around his utility belt looking horribly, horribly improper around his crotch area, then yes, again! But that one's unintentional, I swear. (Perhaps freudian?)

But yeah, I was kind of concentrating more on fitting all of my favorite Link-quipments on Link, and noticed far too late that I had completely foregone any sense of depth on his actual body, making his arms very, very flat (and his right arm far too long, perhaps, to properly use that bow).

But oh well. It's better than my older junk (http://eltipejoloco.deviantart.com/gallery/#_featured--3), I hope.

I think the error noted at is more the fact that the arrow's head comes way back beyond the bow itself, which defies gravity as it would just fall to the ground with nothing to rest on as it's being pulled back.. Assuming that dude noticed the same thing.

YES.  Get it or so help me--

Yep- especially if it's the PC version (as opposed to Xbox), so that you can get all those fancy mods.

It's not very good no, but certainly interesting. As an action game it's sorta mediocre, it tries to hard to be innovative and the ragdolls are flaccid as liquid. But it is beautiful as hell and some parts of it is a great gaming experience. It's such a milestone in the history of gaming you can't avoid it... Play it, it's worth it!

I personally think they should never have given Gordon Freeman a face or even a name. When I play Half Life I often feel that I'm "in there" and knowing that I'm actually playing gordon freeman kind of distracts me from that great feeling. Hard to explain, just my two cents.

Honestly, I'd be surprised if there was still more Power Suit fan art than Zero Suit fan art.
