Title: The Marvelous Hot Air Balloon [WITHDRAWN]
Post by: Mike Lee on February 23, 2009, 01:26:55 PM
:gentleman: Good day fellow gentlemen! I was on my afternoon constitutional when I was  serendipitously accosted by a poor wretched boy. My usual stance would be to ignore such riff-raff looking for a penny to feed themselves, but this boy was not looking for any charity at all! Oh ho, instead he was distributing this unusual pamphlet. I submit this to you fellow sirs for your approval.

While I am certainly a bit put off by the nature of this contraption (by what mechanism do I control myself?), my curiousity still finds the better of me. I hope that once this "Hot Air Balloon" comes to our fine county I shall be the first to enter its cockpit and navigate the skies.

As awesome as that is, I misread the word in the very lower right.

The "P" didn't quite look like a "P".  More like an "F".

At first I didn't even realize it wasn't a real one. Very awesome poster!

This seems like it could be very close to the concept I would have done.

Godspeed. :gentleman:

Couldn't figure out what was being referred to in the lower right corner, though.

That's Gravity Bone (http://www.blendogames.com/).

That being said, awesome poster  :)

Mmm poster poster poster.

I think my impression of this game is skewed now because of the poster being so awesome...

That image is saved so hard, you have no idea. Now you just have to make a game that lives up to it. If it is infused with the same charming wit that is displayed in this delightful pamphlet, then I will consider the task accomplished. :gentleman:

Yes, the game is still being made! Unfortunately, not in time for the deadline. I have bits and pieces of a game and I'm dedicated to seeing this through to completion. So while I will withdraw from said competition with no finished product, here are two images from The Marvelous Hot Air Balloon.

It does look great! It has the low-colour style of an early-90s PC game. I hope you keep working on this!
