Title: Aqua Kitty Sub-Sub - DEMO FINISHED
Post by: Dugan on March 11, 2009, 11:00:43 AM
Sadly haven't had as much free time to work on this as I would have liked, but its been fun making it. Will pop up the demo tomorrow for anyone who wants to give it a go.
EDIT: - Demo is available here:

 - 19th april update, fixed the annoying collision issue finally (was due to walls being marked as SOLID of all things... gah)

2MB, and PC only.

Bit late to the party...

The pitch - Underwater kitty navigates its sub using just the radar screen and furry paws!

That sounds interesting! (OK, it's easy to get me with kittens in absurd situations - if done properly.)

Haha, I love the little paws, and the fact that we can somewhat control our missiles' trajectory after launch, but why does the steering have to be so slow ;_;

Is this your submission for the compo, or is it just an unfinished demo that you don't want in the voting?

Ah, this seems pretty slick. I'll definitely come back and play it again once it's further along. Visually, it's quite nice.

Really nice looking game. It's kind of slow, though. Maybe it's my computer..

It is slow, but you're in a sub, so it's forgivable. I like this one. The stealth aspect of hiding your sound in the grass, the sonar is dead-on, practically a line of sight. Good job with this one.

Agreed this is a fantastic game, the graphics are very polished, combat is tactical tho I wish there was SOME form of back movement :p the combat is fun tho.

You could so easily run with this idea all the way into a full game. Great job!  :beer:

I agree about the backup movement, I hadn't realised from a quick play how deep the sensor model was though - maybe a more developed version with maps/enemies that require a bit more care would help this.

The graphics are great too, especially the kitty paws stabbing at buttons. I think this is my favourite "normal game controlled by visible hands" entry.

Really nicely done. I like the mixture of arcade and sim elements. Maybe it could do with more of a one-shot-one-kill feeling to make the stealth part feel more intense. What's the difference between the normal and wire-guided torpedoes?
