Title: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Tom Sennett on March 28, 2009, 05:59:28 PM I present to you a poignant piece of autobiography.
(http://coolmoose.net/games/screens/tsp.png) Game is about one of my favorite pastimes: doing absolutely nothing. Go for the highest score and press SPACEBAR to finish. PU-LAY NAO (http://coolmoose.net/games/flash/TSP.php) Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Fuzz on March 28, 2009, 06:31:18 PM I don't get it. Does space increase points, quit the game, or do nothing?
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: ஒழுக்கின்மை (Paul Eres) on March 28, 2009, 06:41:43 PM it stops the points from increasing
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: GregWS on March 28, 2009, 07:00:18 PM It's cheating just to leave this open in a different window, isn't it. :(
And this thing is great man, so simple and yet so compelling! :D Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Tanner on March 28, 2009, 07:05:56 PM 2nd place, 441 points.
Tom has more than 9,000 points. :wtf: Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Kneecaps on March 28, 2009, 07:30:04 PM Hey! I actually really like this idea! And the happy dude.
Good job! Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Matt Thorson on March 30, 2009, 04:59:40 PM I loved the idea when you told me the concept, and it was well executed.
:handthumbsupL: ;D :handthumbsupR: (Although playing it can cause depressing self-reflection due to irony) Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: GregWS on March 30, 2009, 05:07:28 PM (Although playing it can cause depressing self-reflection due to irony) That's what I love about this: when I caught myself procrastinating on Sunday, I intentionally played this, and by the mid-hundreds had guilted myself into pressing space and getting some work done. So in the end I think I lost less time to procrastination!Well Done! Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Terry on March 30, 2009, 05:44:08 PM Hah, this is awesome :)
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: tylerjhutchison on March 30, 2009, 08:23:10 PM bravo sir! bravo! indeed :gentleman:
The music you use in all of these is amazing. i actually download a ton of public domain music and just used it in a commercial I made for Crayon Ball... and might also use some when making a soundtrack for the game. Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Renton on March 31, 2009, 09:22:50 AM It's on.
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Tom Sennett on April 01, 2009, 01:52:37 PM Renton beat my score by 45,000 points :handthumbsupL:
Glad you guys like it. Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Glyph on April 01, 2009, 02:17:13 PM There should be a competition for this game. Whoever stays awake/doesn't leave to go to the bathroom/doesn't press space out of pure boredom wins!
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: agj on April 02, 2009, 10:14:58 PM Lifelike.
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Cesque on April 03, 2009, 03:31:03 AM Quote Lifelike. Nah... it's sort of missing those returning thoughts like "I really need to get to work" while procrastinating all the while. Still... one of the simplest competitive games I guess :) Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Tom Sennett on April 06, 2009, 08:03:02 AM So I posted this on Newgrounds yesterday, just for kicks.
Reactions were... mixed (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/490191). My favorite is the guy who suggests "achievements or medals even". Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: GregWS on April 06, 2009, 09:32:14 AM Yeah, the achievements thing was funny. Maybe you could, like, make the in-game Tom do something silly when a ridiculously high score is reached. But that might be going against the point of the game.
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Eclipse on April 22, 2009, 03:22:27 AM Procrastination: The Game :D

Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: GregWS on April 22, 2009, 08:58:20 AM Procrastination: The Game :D It's what I have leechblock direct me to when I'm using that.maybe i can make it autorun when i click on my browser or on msn to remember me to F*CKING WORK :wtf: Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: Tom Sennett on April 23, 2009, 01:39:24 PM I highly appreciate the Leaderboards. Care to throw the bad boy into distribution? Like, MochiAds distribution? Why would anyone want this game on their site? Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: increpare on April 23, 2009, 01:53:17 PM i liked it : )
Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: I_smell on April 24, 2009, 10:31:14 AM I made a game like this once called Don't Press 7. I'd link to it n Newgrounds, but now it's gone FOR SOME REASON.
This game would be more about procrastination if you had to consistantly click on it to get a higher score. Or even holding down the space bar. Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: mirosurabu on April 24, 2009, 11:02:26 AM off-topic:
How about making continue-playing fraud game? (oh, Zaratustra already did something like that, but it wasn't really fraud - the monkey did dance at the end) You know, applying same advance-fee fraud tactics. Title: Re: Tom Sennett, Procrastinator Post by: sergiocornaga on April 24, 2009, 10:28:44 PM I got almost 100,000 points then accidentally closed it. :epileptic:
