Title: Eternal Hope Post by: hnrq01 on May 26, 2016, 08:09:14 AM Hey everyone :coffee:, about 6 months ago I've started developing a 2D puzzle platformer game, but until now I haven't shown it to anyone. Since it is a large project that requires a lot of time and dedication, I'd like a sincere feedback if you think it's worth for me to continue with the game.
I'm still in testing phase but I already have a path that I'd like to follow. I was inspired by games like Limbo, Ori and the Blind Forest, The Legend of Zelda, etc. I tried to create a different art style, combining silhouette and low poly. The game will have clever puzzles, dangerous situations and challenges. Anyway, more than the visual, I want the player to feel connected with the story. I'm also testing camera position, environmental lightning and other effects. (http://s33.postimg.org/4dt05qtm7/screenshot1.png) STORY: The story is about a boy that loses his beloved in a tragic accident. Lost in his own grieve he receives an offer he can’t deny, a way to bring her back. But to do so he must find the fragments of her soul that spread around the world. MECHANICS During the game you will not be alone. You have a winged ball of light by your side, it will guide you throught the right paths, warning whenever there are secret passages, hidden traps and shortcuts. (http://i.imgur.com/XPg4hNQ.gif) You have a special ability too, you can use it to merge two dimensions into one, the ethereal world and yours. But you have to use it wisely, because you'll never know what you are going to find out there. When you use your special ability you can walk through some solid objects like trees, walls, etc and you will be able to see different types of ghosts, some are friendly and will serve as platforms and others will protect you in your time of need. But there are a few that want to harm you and you have to avoid them at all cost! (http://i.imgur.com/DINtVHz.gif) Thanks for your time! Thanks chrilley, I'm probably gonna try releasing it on steam, but I need to create more content before trying to get into greenlight. The dimensions mechanic sounds interesting too. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the game :)
