Title: Game demo is finished but has 4 Typos, will publications hold this against me? Post by: thefoolishbrave on October 05, 2017, 07:35:23 PM Long story short, finished up my demo just in the nick of time before my programmer went on vaca- It'll be over a week before the edits can be made but I'm obviously eager to start shipping it out, there's at least an HOUR of content, so I'm wondering if it will be a big deal as it IS in fact a demo. The obvious answer is to make it perfect, but if it's truly not going to make or break and impression of the games agenda and pitch I want to try and get it out there as soon as possible! Thoughts?

Post by: agingminotaur on October 05, 2017, 10:12:28 PM Depends how much you rely on making a professional impression, I think. If it's a pure hobbyist project, just go for it, I guess? I do understand the eagerness to get your hard-wrought demo out of the door, though I'd personally wait a week and make the edits. From an outside perspective, it doesn't matter much if it comes now or in a week, but typos are always glaring. Of course, nothing is ever going to be perfect (taking Murphy's Law into account, you'll probably discover an important bug four minutes after effectuating the upload, no matter what). But why ship something with bugs you know about and know how to fix?
As always, Minotauros Title: Re: Game demo is finished but has 4 Typos, will publications hold this against me? Post by: thefoolishbrave on October 06, 2017, 06:58:19 AM Yeah, i'll wait, it seems negligible, but I've worked on this for so long already I might as well just sort the few remaining typos from existence *HUFF*
