This thread is for the voting of the next Mockup Frenzy theme! Since no one else actually, you know, suggested themes, here's my list:


Red vs. Blue (have to choose to make a mockup with only red, or only blue.)

Art Style (based on art pieces)

Magical Mockups (mockups themed around MAGIC!)
(Magical and Robo could be done at the same time! To encourage mixes, and offset the kinda bland theme.)
Robo-Mockup (Mockups themed around robots!)

Chronological, Dude (Theme the piece around time, or time travel.)

Blast to the Past (Choose limitations from a console back in the 80s! And make a piece celebrating the past!)

Tall Tales (Make a mockup from a legend or tale, but you have to use 'tall' pixels [double the height]!

Mimi-ckups! (Mimic the style of another pixel artist, indie or not!)

Iso-Mock-tric (Make an isometric piece!)

Tactical Advantage (Make a strategy game mockup, for the GBA!)

Alienated (Make a piece themed around aliens!)

Start Your Engines (Make a racing game!)

Roundworld (Make a mockup where the screen is a circle!)

Mock-Off (Make a knock-off of an existing game!)

Meet the Meat (Make a mockup themed around food.)

Mockups, Destroyers of Worlds! (Make a mock-up where a world is being destroyed, or IS destroyed!)

Animation Jubilation! (Make a mockup featuring animation of any sorts! 4 frame minimum!)

Blood and Noir (Make a mockup, themed around Noir, completely monochrome, except for one color: red.)

All the World is a Stage... (Make a mockup themed around a play, specific or no.)

Results Are In! (Make a results screen mockup.)

TV Mockups (Make a mockup themed around TV.)

The World is Slime (Make a mockup involving or themed around slime, goo, etc...)

Riddle Me This! (Make a puzzle game mockup.)

Adventurous (Make an adventure game mockup.)

Revenge of the Mockup (Make a mockup of a sequel to a game that doesn't exist.)

Gotta Mock 'Em All (Make a monster collection game mockup.)

Necromockups (Make a game themed around the DEAD!)

Comockups (Make a mockup involving or themed around comics!)

Mockup Man, Away! (Make a superhero themed mockup!)



If you want to see one of these, vote for it! There's a lot of them, and in the case of a tie, I will do the first one on the list, which is RED VS. BLUE.


I would love an artist's help to make the themes less general, if needed. And remember, you can still post suggestions for themes!

I think Red Vs. Blue would get the most interesting pieces. I might jump in on the next Mockup Frenzy, it looks like fun.

ALSO: Interesting how Red VS. Blue is getting so many votes! Wasn't one of my faves. My personal favorite, in terms of uniqueness, is Roundworld. So, my vote's for that. If I'm allowed to have a vote?

No, I couldn't make a poll this long (or, indeed, at all.) So, we're just doing it this way. I'd like if everyone voted in bold too, since that might help. Changing votes is allowed, just edit your post.

I like the revenge of a mockup idea. No idea what game I'd do a sequel to but I'm sure I could come up with something. Oh actually I already have one that would fit, that may be against the rules though to just post old stuff.

As noted in the current Mockup Frenzy thread, scheduling has been changed because of a dire mistake on my part. I am dreadfully sorry.

Roundworld IS STILL GOING ON. However, voting is too! See, Mockup Frenzies last TWO weeks, which I messed up on the first Frenzy. So, I am changing it back to two weeks. However, Voting will take place in the MIDDLE of a Mockup Frenzy, and it'll give you Seven days to be able to vote.

So basically, Mockup Frenzies last two weeks, and voting begins one week into the current Frenzy and lasts until the end of the Frenzy.

This is a new voting session. Ignore the previous one altogether, except any themes that won previously cannot be redone. Your votes from last time do not count, so you can vote again. It basically resets every session.

any idea when the next frenzy will be?

I vote iso-mock-tric! I was thinking lately that it would be cool to make on an old-style flip-screen isometric adventure, in the style of Head Over Heels et al. There really aren't enough of those on the indie scene. I would totally mock up something for this theme.

Indeed, johnnoz. I didn't think it was confusing, but whatever. It also didn't help my vacation got moved up one week... to right when the MF was.

Anyways, voting will continue until Monday. IT will end first thing Monday, and I'll start the next MF.

Roundworld had the potential to be awesome. and it almost did it!  :(
