Title: [DEMO] Game without name yet (Gawinaye) Post by: dertom on December 08, 2009, 04:41:10 AM Ok, I failed (read last post) to finish a real game. But nevertheless a mini-demo that I made with my blender / java based game engine
Mini-Demo: http://thomas.trocha.com/games/ass/assemblee.jnlp (http://thomas.trocha.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/ass.jpg) Ok,...people! I will be in as well...but actually I started quite often and most of the time I really fail. :D Best example the ludumdare-compos... But I have to say the way of failing is getting better and better and so I'm quite optimistic that I will finish this time. (Especially as the content is already done....) I'm using the popular gamedev language java with opengl-based jMonkeyEngine. And I'm quite sure I will use the rabbit! This animation-sequence is marvelous... ..but first I have to fail LD the upcoming weekend( http://www.ludumdare.com ) Stay tuned, ToM Title: Re: Game without name yet (Gawinaye) Post by: dertom on December 30, 2009, 11:14:03 AM Well,...I will start now with my game. I hope the party tomorrow will not be too destructable
so I can maybe finish something! :D The resource-base is incredible...is this all under creative-commons license now? Nevertheless have a good "New Year's day"-Party, ToM Title: Re: Game without name yet (Gawinaye) Post by: dertom on January 03, 2010, 03:27:57 PM Hmm,...I used the last week to start with Assemblee Part2. Actually I did much work
like wirting a SpriteClass that can just load the pictures and play the different animation and had to fight with the java-engine (and of course with myself). So more fundamental work...but I make progress and although I have the strong feeling it will be very very hard to finish I'm still optimistic....I would say that I reached a point where I really can start with the gameplay. So what will it be? Something like a Jump&Run-Adventure. Here a first screenshot: (http://thomas.trocha.com/misc/assemblee1.jpg) Title: Re: Game without name yet (Gawinaye) - first screenshot Post by: Sos on January 04, 2010, 05:23:41 AM that looks terrific, reminds me of Bushido Blade :ninja:
Title: Re: Game without name yet (Gawinaye) - first screenshot Post by: dertom on January 12, 2010, 02:58:10 AM Ok,...I failed. Nevertheless I got something playable, but there is not much gameplay and some bugs with the grandma.
http://thomas.trocha.com/games/ass/assemblee.jnlp (ignore the console) You can use the gaming console if you want: e.g. Oma.forcedJump(2f); Oma.moveRelAndPlay(2f); Oma.moveToAndPlay(2f); Oma.stop(); same for Player. Actually it took me too much time to write unnecessary code. Actually I created or went on creating something like a game engine that makes it possible for me to create most of the stuff without java. Only designing the world in blender and injecting logic with a scripting language. I worked hard to finish something and when I wanted to release it I made a stupid mistake with outcommenting lines. And I was too braindead at the moment to fix it :D where is the difference? if (a==true) System.out.println("aaa"); doCoolstuff; and if (a==true) //System.out.println("aaa"); doCoolstuff Title: Re: [DEMO] Game without name yet (Gawinaye) Post by: Sos on January 12, 2010, 05:59:26 AM what's jnlp?
Title: Re: [DEMO] Game without name yet (Gawinaye) Post by: dertom on January 12, 2010, 06:42:23 AM Not working for you!? Hmm,...it is a java webstart. So you usally need java installed. What os do you have? Thought that would be installed....
