I'll be going to WoL but travelling back home Saturday afternoon, would be interested dropping into the jam in the morning though.

PC version now out:

I ditched XNA and rewrote it in C++ / DirectX8 so it ought to run on most peoples machines pretty well.

Enjoyed the vlog, looking forward to more.

Monaco looks great, congratulation on getting nominated for the IGF. I sounds like you maybe intend to "do a Braid" and deliver a final version which is much graphically improved from the gameplay proving IGF version?  Could this be another IGF game that takes 2 years post IGF to be released?

Oh and if you need a playtester...

Hmmm I dunno, there were a lot of people who couldn't run the PC press preview version of Leave Home, probably about 30%, perhaps they did do something wrong.

Releasing on PC was a pain with fren-ze, 'troid and mariopac. I prefer a fixed platform. All the screen display stuff and input handling, everyone having different setups etc. Perhaps if MS did PC distribution on Windows Live like the 360 system.

The problem with doing a PC version is the XNA framework really. It doesn't work on loads of peoples machines and is a pain to install. If I did put out a PC version I think I'd have a lot of people moaning like they did with Blueberry Garden. I wouldn't feel too happy about charging for something like that really.

Congratulation on getting it released. I loved the beta, best game I've played in ages.

Oh, I haven't been there since Super Mario Pac.  I should download that sweet looking shmup demo.
Welcome back, I'll pop the kettle on. I get like millions (literally) of hit and run downloaders of MarioPac, the curse of doing a mashup game.

Someone steals a percentage whatever you sell on (unless maybe you get people to post you cash), Paypal or BMT or your portal or whatever. Good luck to you if you want to be pro and live off your dev, I hope you get an XBLA, PSN, WiiWare and Steam deal. For a lot of awesome stuff done for the love of it though this is a way to get it on a console with the benefits that brings: payment system built in, standard controller, fixed platform, patches etc. It IS a shame lots of the stuff on there is crappy and not up to the standard of most of the games posted over in feedback.

RobF: is SYNSO 360 online now? Looks phenomenal.

Bah stop that, I wasn't begging, although it's much appreciated, thankyou sir. I hope you enjoy the full game.

I'm not bothered about marketing, or really selling a lot, I don't have to rely on game sales to eat or anything. I'm happy that this XBLIG thing lets me publish to console with having to have a business and all that crap. I'd love to see more of the excellent games that members of this board make on the xbox, not really sure why they're not there (xbox cost? no gamemaker/flash?) would much rather play them there and be able to reward the authors by buying.

I'm doing an XNA game at the moment. Looking forward to releasing something on a console, something that lots of people will play using the same controller sitting on their sofas. I might even get a bit of money back which would be nice. Have released two shooters on PC, not much of an audience and sold fuck all (maybe down to quality?).

Oh this is sooo good. Just compressing my first playthrough now. Can't wait to get back to playing it.

I tried the game yesterday. I really like the visual style, the music and the feel. Flying in particular is very satisfying. I like the discovery aspect but I am finding the outcomes of my actions hard to discern, there are still a lot of relationships in the game I don't understand. I wonder if it does all make sense or if some things are only there to look nice/quirky and are not related to the game. I have the same problem ascribing any wider meaning to it all, is it all arbitrary, in which case the game does seem a little "light", or am I being dense?  Should I stop worrying and just accept it on face value?

Good point: it's making me think.

I find the reduced word count of twitter much easier to post to than a blog, less pressure.
