1  Community / Jams & Events / Re: List of all major (or not so major) indie/game-dev conferences in Europe. on: October 19, 2011, 03:31:54 PM
Gamescon is actually called Gamescom - assuming you mean the trade fair in Cologne. It is typically more for gamers than developers, but it has a huge business area (which you can enter if you are an exhibitor, trade visitor or press). If have appointments in the business area or even your own booth (or form a group with other indies to afford a booth), it is certainly a positive and enriching experience.
So far I've only been at gamescom as press, but if I remember correctly there has a been an indie booth in the business area a few years ago and this year a few smaller german companies had their own shared booth. (Some went for some smaller mexican companies as well as some nordic companies)

You forgot Devmania in your list, a german-speaking-only meet-up/jam-type thing.

I'm still interested, but it depends on the actual date and time.
3  Community / Jams & Events / Re: BIGJam '11: Hostel and accomodations thread on: August 22, 2011, 04:26:35 AM
I've booked 2 for Thursday.
Awesome. Thanks for taking care of this.
4  Community / Jams & Events / Re: [TICKETS!] Berlin Indie Game Jam 2011 - Aug 26-29 on: August 20, 2011, 02:46:10 PM
Are there any talks or presentations planned this time? I would love to do a talk if that's possible.
5  Community / Jams & Events / Re: BIGJam '11: Hostel and accomodations thread on: August 20, 2011, 02:39:34 PM
Damnit, I checked this thread too late. I assume there is no one left who wants to bunk with me on Thursday.
I would love to share a room with esc and Bezzy on Monday, if that's ok with you guys. Smiley

Btw: For anyone who arrives on Thursday, would any of you like to meet up and go for a beer or something like that?

Stoney - do you want to grab a place in one of the rooms, though?
Yes of course, any of the rooms is fine. Smiley Sorry, I meant to write that in the first place.
What I was wondering was if I need to book another room in the Circus for Thursday or if any of the reserved rooms are already available for Thursday (similar to the "stay longer - don't move out" - thing).

I think I have a bit of a special case: I would need a bed for five nights (thursday/friday/sat/sun/mon) because I'm arriving on Thursday and leaving on Tuesday.

Stick with it, I personally really like the art style. But as others said before me, please improve the wall jump.

I CAN DO THIS.  We have a futon free on the Thursday night.

Thanks for the offer. I'll happily accept it. Smiley

Thanks for organizing this, Draknek.
I would need a bed for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (I'll be arriving on Thursday, I hope that's not a problem.)
13  Community / Jams & Events / Re: TIGJAM UK 5 - 15th-17th July - Cambridge, UK (35 tickets left) on: June 10, 2011, 02:46:38 AM
I got my ticket and booked my flight. I'll be arriving on Thursday and staying till Monday.
Really looking forward to this and this is going to be my first time in the UK.
14  Community / Jams & Events / Re: Budapest Jam (a show of hands please) on: May 05, 2011, 07:18:20 AM
I hope nobody minds if I bump this up.

Well, I'm definitely going to be in Hungary for the first and second week of June. Would be awesome if there would be a game jam/meetup within that time period. Wink

Although I don't live in Hungary, I'd be willing to travel to Budapest for a game jam. So, a "Yay" from me. Smiley

I love the mouse wheel support. I'm getting way better scores than before.

Pleae test the Java Web Start Link again on Mac OS X - I have included a max heap space parameter.
It's working now on Mac OS X. Great!  Smiley

When I try to run the jar or the jnlp file on Mac OS X 10.6.4 the java application icon shows up in my dock but besides that nothing happens.  I get this error, I hope that helps in finding the bug:
Code:
Exception in thread "Animation Thread" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

It works on my Windows-machine (I tried Webstart) and here are my first impressions:
- It's really fun. Well done
- I have to agree that judging from the screenshots it does not look really visually impressive, but it's much better in motion. How about adding some Geometry Wars - like glow-effect
- I would like it more if you could control the whole game just with the mouse, like resizing the net with the mouse wheel

The unsigned version hangs for a while. Then Safari tells me the applet has started but nothing happens, just a blank page. Then Safari quits itself, not just the window it's in but all Safari windows. I don't have any other browsers on my Mac so couldn't test it in any others.
I'm having the same problem on Mac OS X 10.6.4 using Chrome 5.0, Safari 5.0.1 and for some reason also Firefox 4.0b2.
