Giant Bomb is a frequently humorous video game website. They do these so-called "Endurance Runs" sometimes. Their first (and probably best) ER was for the game Persona 4. Here is a link to the first video. You can go from there. It is very funny and a good way to experience Persona 4's story without having to grind through endless, samey dungeons. You may want to skip past some combat sections and check out videos for the episodes you watched to see if you missed anything. If you want to watch their Deadly Premonition ER afterward (beforehand?), know that it was slightly too short to develop any long-standing inside jokes. They currently have only done two, but you can likely expect another one in a few months. Basically whenever a wacky, low-profile (something with around 50,000 copies sold, probably) comes out, Giant Bomb will probably be on the case. Probably.

But they're practically making fun of him, I don't think it's going to turn Japanese kids into Hitler-lovers.
I couldn't quite gather the context from the video, but if they are, in fact, making fun of him, I'm fine with it. It seemed to me they were saying "Silly Hitler Funtime!" rather than "Hitler is a Stupid Fuck!" but I could easily be wrong. And I may have exaggerated a bit when I said "love." Anyway, I'm off to propose the idea of a show called "Silly Hitler Funtime!" to Adult Swim.

It just occurred to me how this mentality is similar to the Muhammad depictions controversy, which makes it even more absurd.
Will a kid show raise the kids to be neo-nazis? As I said before, unless they are teaching xenophobia (or racism or sexism...), I don't think so.
Hitler is generally regarded as the universal symbol of hatred and cruelty. The show is teaching xenophobia by example. If you (at age seven) loved the guy who loved Hitler, you'll probably end up loving Hitler, too. Obviously, if the child is taught through various other sources to hate Hitler, he'll lose his respect for the man. Really, the point here is that Hitler has transcended being just a bad person. He has become a symbol of hate and evil. So we're not quite talking about a person, but a set of ideals. And those ideals go beyond what most generally consider acceptable.

So what. Are we going to be forever scared and offended by a dead man? Nobody will ever be allowed to use a toothbrush moustache again?
As long as this show doesn't teach xenophobia, I don't see what is the problem.
Hitler's appearance is generally associated with extreme genocide, which is why he is considered so taboo. Also, I'm assuming the dude in the Hitler costume is a regular character on the show (not necessarily in his Hitler costume, of course) so any kids who like him might associate him with Hitler. You can see where I'm going here.

Let's get back on topic. Seems like this discussion is of interest to a lot of people, so maybe a new thread for it is in order.
Question: what happens when a luma turns into a new galaxy? Does it die and sacrifice itself for it's creation? Does that make it a god? Is it still alive within every grass blade and winter chill of that realm? Are we all just a connected meta-consciousness experiencing the world subjectively? (Okay, I'm digressing back to the psyche theories now too- but still: new thread please.)
I get the impression that the luma continues living. But I think that it loses control of all bodily functions except thought. It can't speak to the beings on its surfaces, it can't influence the direction of the wind, it can't erupt a dormant volcano. It is forced to observe beauty, rather than live it. Whether or not this is satisfactory is difficult to say.

Failed Experiment Add Big Bird and one of those things from Final Fantasy. Me dressed as an orange bird. I love how the woman in the tank top is trying to figure out if she likes this or not.

They aren't really that memorable. You need a good color scheme to really make something stand out.
Also, the white one is hilarious. He is trying to look so serious when he has those little hand things randomly sprouting out of his wings. It looks like he's saying "Oh yeah? Well, I caught one thiiiiiis big!"

The Mario Kingdom is the real world.
Our world is just a strange dream.
All the different people and personalities present on earth are just the fragments of Mario's sleeping mind.
Man, Mario sure does a lot of dreaming about himself. What a dick. You mean you have dreams that you're not in? Weird. A lot of the time, yes. I guess I'm just weird though? Good to know.

As for the bit about coins coming out of fireball'd enemies in SMW, the same happens in the 3D games, with the fireball exchanged for a stomp.
Anyway, look at it this way: "Goomba" is an ethnic slur for Italians, right? The Mario games (well, SMB1, at least) are about an Italian civil war in which Mario must capture enemy strongholds and ultimately "rescue" the Princess so that she may influence the King and Queen to make decisions that benefit only Mario's army. This ultimately works perfectly, so when SMB3 rolls around, Bowser repeatedly strong-arms the King into helping him (via ransom notes, of course). This is represented by the King transforming into some manner of vile, slimy creature (such as a frog).
Also note that in Galaxy, Bowser is attempting to create his own universe, a way of saying that Bowser is choosing to split off from the Mario controlled nation and form a new one of his own devising. He needs Peach to act as a figurehead, a pretty face to sway citizens in his favor.
The games manipulate you to see Mario's quest as pure, with the more human-like Toads assisting his cause, but this may or may not be the case.

Rick Astley is the greatest guilty pleasure. This is fact. Stating otherwise is considered a very serious crime in many countries across the globe. Seriously, though, I've never quite minded getting Rick-rolled because I get to hear a song that I like.
