Best ending ever: Bad Dudes.
The president likes hamburgers? WHAT A TWIST!
Or how about the ending of "Zero Wing" - SPOILER: a line of anthropomorphic grapes dancing across the screen - the perfect end to the Japanese shmup that brought you the phrase "All your base are belong to us", IMO.

Haha those are amazing. This is like those Rorschach/inkblot tests! I can't tell whether the ghost is resting against the block or pushing it. Rotate this one 90 degrees clockwise and ---- Well, Sigmund Freud would have something to say about what I see. Also, I can't load anything on the site except the background and a "red x". Do I need to install something for my browser first?

An enthusiastic voice declaring "Game over YEAH!"
It's amazing what games can get away with that movies simply can't. :D (Not that they don't try, occasionally.) I once played a version of that ancient "Snake" game (eat the boxes and you get longer while trying not to bang into your own tail) where if you died it would play the death march. If you won... it would play the death march.

'Paganitzu' episode 3's ending movie - what was it, like 20 minutes long? Or was that episode 2? - has to be the most epic ending-sequence I've seen in a shareware game... Or in any game come to think of it. Getting to sit back and watch a textual dialogue-heavy, plot-twisting movie at the end of a top-down puzzle game was more mentally relaxing than you might think. Compared to the mind-bending puzzles, anyway. I don't think I'd be up for a 20-minute cinematic at the end of a game where the object is to run around and put bullets in monsters for several hours. Just a nice big explosion scene would suffice for that kind of game. :]
The various endings of 'Colonization' was cool, since they would be different depending on your achievements during the game whether you won or lost. And in 'Civilization' there were two different ways to win the game. (Either by killing everyone else on the planet, or by leaving the planet in search of a new world.)

Their theme was "Save the Planet" with an intentional environment/conservation theme, but the four winners ended up being THREE "save the earth from space-aliens" games, and one game whose description begins thus: "Venture into 3 unknown Chambers on your way to stop Planet Earth being defeated by this powerful gas..." I'm not saying they're bad games or went against Yoyo's theme, but space-aliens and an Indiana Jones-type guy venturing into chambers don't really have much to do with an Earth Day compo. (Save the whales, protect the rainforest, etc) We could really go in a different direction with an Earth Day compo.

Looks like Dexter to me :D
Omelet du fromage? Awesome I'm not the only one who remembers. :D Are you kidding? That's probably the single most awesome episode of Dexter's Lab there ever was. Oh my god, YES. Haha yeah, it's right up there with "The Laughing" and the episode that took the form of an opera. If Dexter ever had a catchphrase it would hafta be "omelette du fromage" (well, it's better than "yuuuuu are so stuuuuupid").

HORNY DEVILS
In myth and folklore, there is a group of demons who would stalk the night, searching for a victim, a victim that could very easily be you. And when they found you, they wouldn't eat you or tear you to shreds. Oh no, plenty of other monsters and demons have cornered the market on that. No, they would do something far more sinister. They would appear to you as a breathtakingly beautiful woman or handsome man.
And then they would have sex with you.
 Let the games begin...?

* Dirty Jobs: "Mike Rowe vs. the Great Mighty Singing Poo from Konker's Bad Fur Day" :D * Steve Irwin goes nuts about wildlife in Super Mario World (Crikey!) * Mythbusters - The Game! Objective: BLOW. S**T. UP. (You control Buster, who comes to life and decides to inflict all his own high-explosive inuries upon Jamie & Adam and the rest of the crew) (Who is it that is meant to decide the theme for this compo? Was someone assigned and then forgot? Or is it being carefully deliberated on and mulled over by a panel of experts who want only the best for us? )

The last game I worked on was kinda a mess. It's only a few months old and I can't believe how much I hate it already: Looks really nice! Did you use some kind of physics add-on or code it from scratch? (And which version of Flash did you use?)

No more of a hijack than Leonardo da Vinci walking into a fingerpainting class... Seriously though your pics (including your DeviantArt ones) are quite spectacular. General question: Will/Should all these renditions be put into some kind of slide-show format someday?

Mindf*ck CompoMake a game with a sufficiently outrageous concept/design/genre/twist/goal/environment/??? to make the player go WHAT THE **** DID I JUST EXPERIENCE?? I can see some very... unique games arising from that. (My token compo suggestion for today)
