Watching the pilot episode of Terra Nova. How did something involving time-travel, possibly aliens, dinosaurs and an actual budget actually manage to show up on normal TV?

Except the cottontail is a common rabbit in this area. It's not technically "exotic," but still illegal to own. Squirrels, too.
It's also illegal to have a hedgehog, but perfectly legal to have a porcupine.

"Exotic pet" laws are so backwards and ridiculous. It's perfectly legal for me to own an alligator, but it's illegal to own a cottontail rabbit?

The class project is to take a character from an animated movie, take a sound clip of the voice actor from something outside of the animated feature, and then animate that character to the clip. The file is freaking named "kuzco.jpg"

I've seen some claiming that Google is what it is because Steve Jobs gave them advice, and that Bill Clinton was taking advice from him when the whole Monica Lewinsky thing happened.

I scanned some things from my sketchbook. Gesture drawings: Random stuff that aren't gesture drawings: (I was looking through movies and misread "That Darn Cat" as "Dino Cat." A double-take revealed only disappointment.) Sketches from a current project for class:

RPGs that lack oriental weaponry. I want a dual-wielding fighter that I can name "Kukri Monster," dang it!

You might want to fix the tangent between the mouse's nose border & tip and his body & arm, but it looks great otherwise.

It really doesn't feel like a "Dr. Suess" story any more, at least with what they shown us.

So to make it simple rough estimation: Efforts in 2D: Drawing Efforts in 3D: Modelling, Skinning, Texturing, Rigging, Animating.
That list can be expanded a bit. 2D: drawing, key-framing, inbetweening, cleanup, coloring 3D: modelling, skinning, texturing, bump/displacement/vector mapping, rigging, weight mapping, dynamics (cloth, hair, etc), redoing any or all of the previous when you discover that something in the model needs to be change, animating, effects, lighting (for cut scenes, add rendering and compositing to the list)

quick book recommendation quick list| Larry Niven | - Ringworld series, Integral Trees |
I also thought his comet-apocalypse story, "Lucifer's Hammer," was pretty good. 1984 and Brave New World were also interesting/depressing.

Total Recall
Yeah just saw it recently, aged much better than most 90s movies, also: crazy awesome soundtrack and endless quote material. Yeah, Jerry Goldsmith was one of the best composers. Also, it'll be hard to watch a selection of movies in this thread without watching a movie that he did the soundtrack for.

It's just what I heard. Ask the people with enough time on their hands to watch the 30+ minute ending of 2001 over and over.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? People seem to have different opinions on whether the movie was worth seeing, though Douglas Adams intended different mediums of the same story to have various differences from each other. The radio play is definitely worth checking out, at the very least.
Metropolis hasn't been mentioned yet.
