I'm not sure if I've ever introduced myself in any official manner, so here goes.

I am Markham Carroll, an animation-major wannabee at BYU (Pre-animation major, not accepted into the full program yet).  While most of what I do now is Flash animation, I have made a couple games when I first learned how to use Flash.  I still program things for my website, and I am currently making graphics for an indie developer (I'm not sure what I can say about it, so for now I'll say nothing and show nothing.  Tongue).

I also did graphics that were released with the level editor in Knytt Stories last year:

...and you can probably guess by now that I'm no pixel artist.  I do all of my work in Flash.  I've never been too good of a pixeler, though I haven't really tried in years.  (I'll have to check my backup drive to see if there's any old stuff worth showing.  There probably isn't.)

I wanna see if someone can demake this.

AT&T/SBC Global has decided that I will not download this file.

Network neutrality is a beautiful thing.

songstowearpantsto.com has a song titled "Half Your Daily Intake of Fat"

Then the conflict could be that you want out of the pit, can't climb very good, but are great at swimming in the blood of your enemies!  :D

Nintendo 64 didn't have general "software" anyway.  They were limited to just video games. :p

The engine's going to take some work, but the resulting benefits will definitely pay off in a reusable Flash game engine.  Making a physics engine in Flash Actionscript 2.0 isn't easy.  Here's what I accomplished so far:
  • Updated old tiling scripts
  • Updated old movement and gravity scripts
  • Simple hit detection with solid ground and platforms.
  • Hit detection points now rotate along with the object they detect for.  All 16 per object.

Next to do:
  • Rotating object physics.  Expect to see a tech demo purely consisting of boxes tumbling down a slope if I manage to get this to work.
  • Reboot overloaded brain and figure out what to do next.

Now only if the audience gets into a narcoleptic soccer riot!

Will this game have any boxen?

I dunno.  Usually people correlate covered wagons, typhoid, cholera and the Donner Party with the Oregon Trail, not downhill skiing.

It'd be pretty cool to watch the potential chain reactions - the blast radius could send peasants flying into other mines, blowing those up along with nearby peasants, and some mines could fling particles in a direction determined by the orientation of the mine, blowing apart more peasants.  Whatever it takes to stop the people from creating the people's government!

You return to your home planet Austrialeraan of the Down Underian System for a barbie with your mates, only to find your home planet in ruins!  Mad as a cut snake, you grab your trusty boomerang, head out of your ship, and begin your search for the fruit loop responsible.  You gaze into the great expanse of the outback and pause as a mob of roo's stare right back at you.  They know something you don't...

I really don't know how far I'll get with this.  I've got a ton of school work to do, but hopefully I'll at least have a playable engine demo before the end.
