After reading the reviews from RPS and Destructoid, I'm more interested in finding out who animated those trailers.

This sounds so strange, I want to try playing it. Give us more journals, all of the discussion surrounding these games is just fantastic.

What on earth is that from?

KamiChu is such an adorable show, and yet I can't help but feel there's supposed to be some deeper level of commentary on the modernization of Japanese culture and the abandonment of its cultural heritage... Might just be me, though.

Hugs to you, dude. Get better soon, mate.

I think I caught the plague that's been running rampant in my dorm, I can barely even think straight. But hey, this is the first time I've actually taken a sick day in college.

Roommate sees me watching Kemonozume with subs on, starts babbling in gibberish to make fun of it, later asks me how I can like something in a language I don't understand. He then puts on his favorite Disney song, "Hawaiian Roller-Coaster Ride" from Lilo and Stitch. He knows all of the Hawaiian perfectly.

What.

Hugs to you, bro, and hugs to all my TIGgers this Valentine's Day. Whether you're single, dating, engaged, sister-wives or whatever, just share your love with all who you care about. You never know who might need it.

A comparison of the same scene, drawn almost exactly one year apart.

The 2012 one wasn't complete yet, but even at this stage it's miles beyond the 2011 pic.

Looks like a lot of comments are removed now. Still, frigging ridiculous that people would post that kinda crap.

Preview of a comic I'm drawing for a comic anthology. If you wanna read the full 38-page comic, you'll have to order the book when it comes out this summer. c; You'll even get to see the snazzy inside cover I designed.

Atlus announced they're reprinting Radiant Historia. Now I'm torn between choosing this or Xenoblade Chronicles, which is finally coming to America this spring.

Actually, selling the demo seemed to be their original plan, but perhaps due to Keiji Inafune's absence they put a halt to even releasing that. Seems pretty sad that are no plans for releasing the demo as of right now.

Anyways, I agree that this could potentially be great for bigger developers, but it could also turn into a goldmine rush that crowds out the smaller, riskier ventures that need this kind of money. On the other hand, if more studios adopt this model, it could also mean that crowdfunding could become a more legitimate business model, and a valid alternative to a publisher. With this, though, comes the expectation of pleasing as wide (or rich) of an audience as possible, and the majority will rule, for better or for worse.

I have a copy of Romancing SaGa for PS2 that I haven't touched yet (backlog 3 miles deep), but I loved the Final Fantasy Adventure/Legend games on GB as a kid. I didn't make much progress, but I loved just running around with characters and making them eat meat and turn into cyborgs and other weird stuff.

Worst case scenario, they now have money to fall back on if the adventure game fails, although considering how much hype there is for this game already, that seems fairly unlikely. It'll allow Double Fine the ability to work on bigger or riskier projects, or maybe even put some decent marketing behind their next game. That'd be killer.

I convinced a friend of mine to start watching Serial Experiments Lain. The poor fool has no idea what he's in for.
156  Player / General / Re: Does Pokemon Suck Now? on: February 07, 2012, 09:36:58 PM
I gotta say, I tried to get back into the games and stuck with Soul Silver for a while, but honestly I think it's me that's really changed. I just don't have the patience to grind and train for the next gym, especially when there's such a disparity between the gym leaders and the lower-leveled Pokemon in the surrounding areas. I never battled against real people as a kid, and doing it now I get my ass handed to me by people who know all of the ins and outs of EV training (which seems to this outsider even more tedious than straight-up grinding). I made it all the way to fight Red, and I've more or less lost all motivation to go on. The game's just no fun anymore.

Quitting Soul Silver made me realize I never liked the Pokemon games, I just liked the idea of it. I love the world, and the creatures (screw the haters, I like a lot of the Generation V designs) and the insanity of the early TV episodes and manga spinoffs. My favorite Pokemon game is Pokemon Snap, which I swear to God needs at the very least some form of sequel if not outright franchise of its own. I'd love to see Nintendo branch out more with the franchise with different ways to enjoy and explore the Pokemon universe, but so far it's been limited to the Ranger series and modifications of existing games (Tetris, Mystery Dungeon, etc.).

Thanks, Wade. I feel bad not responding at all, but I also really don't want to drag myself into her drama again.

I don't think you need me to say this since you're pretty confident about it already, but I wouldn't let her have that satisfaction of unloading her problems onto you. I mean, I guess if you're still friends, then as a friend you should be there for her. It sounded like things ended on a low note with her last time, and my understanding was that was going to be it, you guys wouldn't be friends after, and now she's coming out of nowhere to dump her problems?

Also hugs Theo, ex's coming back is terrible.

This is the first time that she's tried to talk to me since she requested I send her stuff back- last week she contacted my folks to see if the packages had been shipped already. She claimed she'd send my things back when she had money, but I doubt that'll be happening for a long time, if at all.
158  Player / General / Re: Human Hugs on: February 05, 2012, 09:06:45 PM
Hugs to you, man. It doesn't sound like she's worth your time, just don't let it interfere with you living your life.

I got a text from the ex last night- all she'd say was that the shit was really hitting the fan at her home, and she was wanting to know if I wanted to talk to her a bit again. I feel like this is less about her trying to be friends again, and more like she's trying to unload her problems on me- why she can't do this with her new boyfriend, I'm not sure, unless he's a part of the problem. I've been the shoulder to cry on for her for our entire relationship, but if she wasn't going to listen to me as a boyfriend, I highly doubt she'd listen to me as an ex.

The challenge... is COMPLETE.

Thanks to everyone who participated. No matter how long you were involved, it means the world to me that people were willing to test out one of my crazy ideas. I certainly got a lot out of this, and I hope you did as well!
