I actually liked the plot and the setting on Diablo 1. It was about a man/woman on the path of his/her damnation. He really had no choice whatsoever. How could s/he expect to fully defeat the Lord of Terror him/herself?

Then Diablo 2 showed us that the hero(ine) from diablo 1 was just a weak dumb fuckwad. Everyone and their mothers can manage to defeat the legions of hell on tehir own.

I know, you just can't be a fan of Diablo after playing Planescape Torment Sad

I actually have played both (add to the mix the awesome Arcanum and the godlike Fallout), and that hasn't stopped me from replayeing either. I just keep the mind open to the fact that their goals were significantly different on each.

And, like someone else suggested, there's always the indie scene.

Speaking of which, I heard there are quite a lot of good games in the indie scene, i hear there is an old school platformer with an amnesiac robot on a floating island fighting against a guy with a phd wearing a helmet and a concrete-made talking toaster, along with cockroaches.

You don't seem to understand what we're talking about here.
Don't worry buddy, I know exactly what is going on. I was explaining how to replicate the bad pixel problem.

I belive he misquoted, given the tone aimed towards.

Interestingly enough, exntensions/widgets for Firefox are way less optimized by design than Opera.

FX3 is prettier tho Smiley.

The last one is supposed to be a certain videogame boss, though I probably made him too short and stocky.

I though you meant to do the miniature version you deal with first.

3553  Player / General / Re: DEATH. on: June 13, 2008, 07:31:02 AM
Metal Slug 3 had also loads of death sequences (including, but not limited to, horrible plant mutiation due to spores, eaten by piranhas, transmuted into gold, zombified and afterwards slowly descomposed and incinerated), albeit most of them were short, specially given the nature of the game. Too bad I don't seem to be able to find a video for all of them.

...when the only woman in the game is the voice telling you what to do.

Dr. Janice Polito ftw

when "its time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and im alllll outta gum..."

They Live!  That would make a wicked FPS actually, not that I'm into them.

@Alevice: What is an AGP slot? Is that for a specific type of card? I'm gonna try and peek in the box later this afternoon, so I'll see if it's there.

Sar explained it far better than I would ever do, but he forgot to mention that back some years ago, AGP was designed specifically for graphic cards, so it is far more optimal in performance than PCI. PCI-E, however, is superior to AGP, but older computer do not even include it.

I'll rather give you some handy tips:

To know what does your motherboard support, download Everest (free trial version), and run it. It would show up a window with detailed summaries about your PC, one of them is your motherboard; there is a section in there giving you information about your expansion slots, even telling you how many of each type (ISA, PCI, AGP, etc) you have.

If you want further specs, you can search for your motherboardas brand and model, that would probably lead you to a tech specs page or something.

Check if you got an AGP slot. Given your computer age, I'd be incredibly surprised if it doesn't. You could open your box and check if there is a brown slot next to the cream colored slots.
3558  Player / General / Re: Brawlers on: May 29, 2008, 08:54:09 PM
I feel like Konami was the king of arcades back in the nineties, what with sexy parodius and their many brawlers.

A particularly interesting brawler I really enjoy to play is Dungeons and Dragons: Shadows over Mystara. The game played in the titular setting, with characters able to level up, cast spells, acquire armor and items and cast spells. The game per se is a sequel to DnD: Tower of Doom, which featured less character classes, and less diverging paths (not that it is a bad game, but the sequel is quite superior).

I honestly believe they are squeezing out way too much that franchise, and that commercial was 'eh'.

BUT

I actually like that all DS unique features were put into good use in a way that doesn't scream "gimmick!". I really like the idea of blowing to dissipate the fire.

They do. Don't become sensationalist. It suits you not.

But you do realize they use babies as instruments, and their web server runs on dead puppies?
