It would just be a bit strange for them to have used voxels instead of ordinary 3D meshes in that case.
thats what i meant be defeating the purpose. as in "why use voxels??" if they really are raycasted and rendered in real time im impressed.. i never wouldve thought the hardware back then capable

my question is though, in red alert 2.. were the units that used voxels, rendered in real time, software, with voxels? somehow i doubt that.
or were they pre-rendered with voxels and then just raster images.
and if theyre pre-rendered.. whats the point?
maybe im crazy.. but like, wouldnt that defeat the purpose?

but i agree the helmet-thing will draw tons of comparisons. but if you can deal with it, just keep it, it looks awesome.
how do you get that awesome hand-painted look with a wacom anyway? i never figured that out.
you promise? and - its easy.. theres this one brush, one of the defaults, that looks like this: the pressure sensitivity and the brush 'hardness' setting is what makes it work its wonders. and i would be overjoyed if you took part in one of our iscribbles... (:

1: That dudes costume reminds me of the style of the twilight realm. A damn lot.
i accually just went up and looked at a bunch of pictures and i think its just the masks fault.. the accual construction of the armor is rather different.. i didnt want to get rid of the mask though maybe i should though.. im gonna run some tests.

i think its awesome! we did an iscribble! Bladmasterbobo, cybernerd, C418, gnorff... and me.. i made tiny fez.. and some other stuff.. btw; i absolutely love how iconic fez is.. like the bluesky and the color.. and then white figure, with red fez/golden tastle.. shows up brilliantly even from really far away. testament to the excellent design/imagery i suppose.

Please tell me one or more of these awesome screenshots come from a game you're working on. Cause that'd be make my day, I think.
if this is directed at me, it may not be from the game im working on yet.. but thats only becuaes i havent developed it far enough to where these images can accually be playable. it will be eventually though. (:

you wanna know why? i think its because on each individual NES tile it was only aloud to have 3 colors. i used colors from all over the pallette all over the image.
if i were to be true to the NES hardware i would have used only 3 colors per 16pixel square at a time ;-;

iScribble is made up of furrys ...seems like a bad idea.. it would be a private TIG iscribble room.. so unless we're made up of furries.. i think we're fine.
