...when you see more than 3 zippers on a single item of clothing.
Or at least 4 belts which serve no purpose whatsoever. hahahaha. When you don't actually swing a sword, but have to choose from a MENU to execute an attack or use an item. Probably the main thing that bugs me about JRPGs. Since I had FF1/2 on GBA, I would power level by running left/right while doing other things, then just hold "A" during a battle until the victory music plays. Then repeat. This is not exclusive to JRPGs.

I write moozak sometimes. Here's part of a song I wrote about everything overused
The princess has been kidnapped By an evil alien being I'm just an ordinary kid, Or that's what it would seem
I'm sent off by some old man, Says that I'm the Chosen ONe A day after I start my quest I am already done
So take your bets The odds are 1 to 3 That party member 2 Will go on a killing spree Will I win? Which choice to make These options now I weigh, I guess I know the answer since you know, It's all just a cliche.

I started out adding a few extra zones and people kept complaining for some reason, so I added all sorts of shit, and then people still were complaining, so eventually I decided that they're all jerks and deserve a crap MMO.. So I raised the level cap to 50 and set every area as a level 50 zone. I then made sure that the paths were unsafe and density was max. Once this had been done, I had a steady number of people subscribing and unsubscribing. That is, somebody subscribed, noticed that it sucked, and unsubscribed instantly. Thing is, this worked for me. I was pulling in cash flow because people would buy the game just to see how bad it is. Next, because I wanted a few people to stay for the suffering, I added exactly two level one zones. As soon as you left a level 1 zone, you would be in a level 50 zone. I still got massive complaints about it being too hard, but the strange thing is, that every day I would get ten complaints of it being too easy. Overall, it was pretty fun.

You just have to accept that as part of the game. I don't know about you, but I certainly wouldn't be very interested in FF12 if it didn't have 30 minute cutscenes. Still, .Hack G.U. is going a bit far. You'd think that after four games and 50+ episodes of anime, they'd realise nobody wants to hear their horrible MUOnline story.
Don't get me wrong; I like the story. I like pretty much everything about the game (especially how clever it is with the whole playing it as an MMO dealie), but even though the story is not bad, there's a little bit too much of it.

So I got a PS2 the other day (only took me long enough for it to get near the point of being obsolete), and obviously I'm at the stage where I'm borrowing games from my friends, who aren't so low tech and have since upgraded to the Playstation 3.
So anyway, I borrow .hack G.U. volumes one and two. Before work today, I decided to try it out, do a quick level, save and then leave. So I play, find it pretty fun, and get to the cutscene. I wait for it to end so I can save, and in the end... I couldn't. The cutscene didn't end before I had to leave.
The cutscene was over 30 minutes long
What the hell is up with this anyway? I want a game, not a movie. The gameplay seems to be nice, so it'd be even nicer if there was more of it. Oh, I'm sure there'll be less cutscenes once I get past this one, but it goes through several plotpoints and places that would have made good levels with some nice scripted boss battles during the cutscene, but nooooooo. That's my rant. Thank you for listening.

Mmm... seems interesting, but if Minus kept going up he'd eventually end up in space and I'd have to give him a fishbowl helmet and have him jump asteroids and avoid flying saucers. Yeah, I just KNOW somebody will tell me to implement just that. You should implement this.

Ok... So my dyslexia has played it's usual tricks on me. It appears the deadline is *monday* night and not today.
I'm nearly done with the demo, but this extra time means I can compose some music for it. Time to whip out the NES tracker!
Oh yeah. And you can burn things now.
Does that dyslexia also give you massive art powers? I think it was a trade. Art skillz for the ability to read it right the first time.

I'm affraid that that game screen is so much more taller than it is wide that I probably won't be able to play it on my monitor Please fix that. I doubt that's the actual size of the playing area. It's just meant to be a poster, I'm sure. 2 points to the Melly family. Unfortunately, five points were deducted for improper use of the sarcasm detector.

I have it working, but I can't figure out the N64 emulator. Do I need a certain type of ROM for it? I downloaded .z64 files, so maybe those don't work correctly, and I might need .v64 instead.
ScummVM works fairly well though. Played through a bunch of DotT yesterday.
