5  Jobs / Offering Paid Work / Re: [Paid] Looking for high quality artist [mobile game] on: November 13, 2013, 10:47:50 AM
@Graz I think I may have confused you. I did not make the game in the link (supermagical), I said the game is somewhat SIMILAR to the video.

Looking for: Top quality artist for a mobile game (iPhone).

Compensation: Paid, possibly revenue-shared.

Project: The game is a reaction-based match-3 game with a really unique twist to it.

It is slightly similar to SuperMagical:

Assets:
What you see in the video is a good guide otherwise here is an incomplete list:
A few level backgrounds ~3, possibly animated
Sprites for particle effects
Several small animated objects/items (~16)
Object animations: moving animation, contact animation, solidifying animation, idle animation, Breaking animation
Text/Sprites for certain things like "Level Up", "Ready? Go!", "Combo!", "X2,3,4,5!", etc
App Icon
Menu Screen
+ More

There are various possible themes this project could take and I'm open to interpretations.
Possible themes might include:

Magical "Bejeweled" theme - Orbs solidify into gems on contact, wooden background.
Creatures theme - Something like the game super magical.
Icicle theme - Droplets solidify on contact
Bugs theme - Bugs connect
Minimal theme - iOS7 like minimal style like Adam atomic’s hundreds game
Huh?? - Something else

If interested email me at [email protected] with links to your sample work for more information.

Thanks Smiley

Thanks for the review Rikus!  Smiley

@Udderdude: I tried to make a very casual game and ramp up the difficulty over time for the hardcore players

And for something slightly different - an international kitty milk tanker (purely cosmetic, has no gameplay effect). Am trusting googletranslate on the spelling  Wink

The small tankers shuttle up to these to drop their payload (so the plan goes...)

I can vouch that the arabic translation for milk, pronounced "Haleeb" is accurate. Btw the game looks awesome  Tears of Joy

Yeah, the game is built for android phones, so no worries about the mouse disappearing. I'll probably quickly shoot out a flash version and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestions  Coffee

Hey everybody.

I probably should have posted here a long time ago (although no one ever told me to, suprisingly  Undecided ). Anyways my real name is Yusuf, I'm a recent college student who is studying computer science at my university.

Ever since I started programming (~5/6 years ago) I knew had a passion for making games (and coding in general). I first started programming games for my nintendo DS and was part of the PAlib community (I'm pretty sure it's dead now). Recently (~ 1 year ago) I started making flash games. I have since released two games of my own(Crops Vs. Cogs and Hue Runner) and have one commission project nearly finished.

When I'm not at my computer I'm trying to get buff... You've probably seen me at the gym doing curls with 80 27.5 lbs dumbbells Embarrassed

Yeah, kinda. I realized that I was boring my friends to death by talking to them about my latest developments in my game, so I stopped doing that  Who, Me?

Hey everybody,

After about 2 months of programming and 1 month of waiting for sponsorship,
my new game Crops Vs. Cogs has finally been released!
Play it here: http://www.flonga.com/play/crops-vs-cogs.htm

Quote
Soil your plants to protect the sunflower from evil cogs! Grow your defensive seeds and collect the cogs to get power. You are the new hope of the plants!

Click on a seed, once again click to drop it, and press Space bar to water it. Plants will automatically attack the enemies, use your mouse to collect the the parts.

19  Developer / Business / Alias Vs. Name on: June 20, 2011, 09:29:53 AM
Hi all,

I'm about to release my 2nd game and I was wondering... Would it be better to release the game under my real name, or should I release it under my psuedo-company name? Or does it even matter?
20  Community / Townhall / Re: The Obligatory Introduce Yourself Thread on: June 08, 2011, 08:28:12 PM
I guess I should have posted here a while ago, but never got the chance.
I took my first programming class (C++) about 5 years ago. Shortly after my first
programming class I dabbled in hombrew development for Nintendo Ds. Recently I have moved to flash games. I released Hue Runner as my first flash game and have another one that is very near release.

My favorite games: Ragnarok Online, DOTA.

I wish I had more time to play games, but I usually spend any extra time I have developing my own games, so people can be happy  Wizard

That's about it for me.
